Orient are a stand up piece of London football history. They may never of mixed with the "big boys" on a regular basis, and i am sketchy on their history, but if i looked into it closely enough, i suspect i'd find that they have a similar story board to most clubs of their historic stature.
They would of been owned, shafted, and fucked around with by idiots, con men and idiotic con men. They would of skirted that fine line between success, the chance of a flirtation with the promised land. They would of been 20 minutes from annihilation. Supported by good people, led on and let down by bad people in equal measure.
I wish them the best of luck and without seeming too disingenuous, i hope we do not play them in the league for some time.
In their defense, I would have been absolutely livid with that ridiculous delay from the ref had we been 1-0 down.
I was livid at 1-0 up. Levels of stress went through the roof thinking about injury time. I guessed 13 mins, so thankfully 11 wasn't too bad.
Yep, I was cursing the ref on the match thread, but at least we had the commentators explaining what the hell was going on.
Spent about 5 minutes asking everyone around us if they knew what was going on. Mate had sky app on his mobile and worked out the ref had the comms issue.
Ironic really poor comms over a Comms issue 😄
Heard from on high, up on the 5th level during the impasse:
"Are we there yet" "The ref's being subbed" "Sky TV want to show adverts" "I blame the Russians" "It's good to talk" "This is Bollocks" "Shit happens" "This is good for Charlton" "The players look so Small, especially Thierry!" "The ref is one of our own" "I wandered lonely as a cloud" "We are so near yet so far from the promised land" "Talk Talk"
Given that news came just a couple of days before Charlton's triumph in the League One play-off final, it seems inconceivable that candidate wasn't boyhood City fan Jones.
Jones has certainly been a contender, however the complication would clearly relate to the three years left on his deal at The Valley, which would require significant compensation for him and his backroom staff. Not to mention the fact that Charlton would be very reluctant to allow their promotion-winning manager to leave.
(Ramsey as player/manager) Has always been my choice but who knows. The Jones rumour was probably started by the club to boost ST sales. (at least we are not the only club to use Jones as a marketing tool )

Love how whenever someone posts inside info on a football forum, there's always someone quickly along to say "That's what I've heard as well."
It is a matter of considerable concern that there has been no formal communication from the club to fans in respect of where we are in appointing a new manager.
Feel sorry for them tbh no communication (from their board) other than stupid rumours made up on the internet.

Nothing that Cardiff can say that will appease their fans.
If they say "the search is ongoing" or "talks continue" they will get "why is it taking so long?" and "you're all incompetent, appoint someone now".
They can't say "we're talking to Buckingham and Ramsey" or whoever because the talks are confidential and no manager wants it out there that they didn't get chosen and no club wants it out there that they got turned down.
I’ve had a meeting this morning with an orient supporter, who is friends with a board member.
his view was that we were the better team, he also said we are championship ready and they aren’t.
they had the 13th biggest budget, finished 6th and had a 13 hr drinking session at Wembley, he was disappointed by content.
He's wrong here.
I think we are ready, as a club and the way the SMT are setting things in the right order, and with a couple of new additions, we will do ok in the Championship...imo.
I don't disagree from an infrastructure perspective that things are more positive, but I can promise you, with 2 new additions, this team goes down.
With Championship clubs sacking managers, needing managers, not paying their players, losing their parachute money etc it sounds like there is potential for a right shit show to fuck up the season for more than a few clubs. We just need to make sure we take advantage of that.

It was an informal term, not to be taken literally as two...🤷♂️
