I find it funny how people marvelled over a journeyman who in my opinion wasn't as good as Thierry, in CBT. Yet would be happy to see a 20 year old with his whole career leave for free.
    Eh?

Oh Thierry, the CV is looking like one of a journeyman for somebody so young who finally found their feet.

Thanks for your efforts this season. A shame, but slightly predictable end of long running 'talks'.

It's clear that NJ was substituting him in games in the manner that Trent was by Slot in the latter part of the season.

    Well that’s that then.

Definitely a player that keeps you on the edge of your seat with plenty of potential, but prone to lapses in concentration and does need coaching through games.

It will be interesting to see how he gets on.

    Gutted to see him go

But good to know this early doors.  Plenty of time to replace him

Wanted him to stay. He's an exciting player to watch and scares defenders but the stats don't lie when it comes to his end product.

Bit of a nothing move for him footballing wise. They aren’t gonna be pushing for promotion next season.

Let’s hope the replacement has some flair at least

Agreed, imagine having the chance to not go to Preston and not taking it….

Pity but I believe we’ll get a good replacement. He needs to stop changing clubs so frequently.

I can’t pretend I’m not really disappointed. There’s a bloody good player there and he’s only going to get better. He gave his all for the shirt, but losing any player who was a key part of promotion to a now direct rival leaves a bitter taste.

I think it's a real shame that Thierry is going. I rate him so, so highly and think under Jones his star would only have continued to ascend.

It might be the sort of move without any winners. Can Preston build upon the lease of life we've clearly given him? Can we adequately replace the guy who gave us a little extra something-something in terms of acceleration and worrying defenders on the flanks? Can Thierry keep progressing? It's not likely that the answer to all three questions here is "No", but I can see it.

Can't thank him enough for a big part in a promotion-winning season, and can't blame him for taking whatever money was offered to him. Football is a short career so I understand the need to maximise earnings.

Hopefully the move works out for us in terms of a replacement, and less so for Preston, obviously!

A pity, liked him a lot and his footwork was p*staking for a full back/wing back. Hopefully we’ll get another progressive RWB if we are sticking to the 3-5-2. Good luck Thierry

Exactly how I feel, just like when we lost Bauer to the exact same team. It’s all well and good saying that we’ll get better but we can’t know that for certain

More yellow cards than goal involvements last season. We can definitely replace him, we move on.

I would like him to have signed based on his potential but I think he was far from our most effective player last season. So I'm mildly disappointed but short of 'gutted'.

All the best to him. If he gets it right he's Premier League but if he doesn't improve I think he will find himself on the bench more often than not.

Decent player, had promise, no offence to PNE but a bizarre move if he is looking to improve his career?

Thought he’d go regardless of promotion, it’s a shame but as others have said he is replaceable.

Unplayable on his day but needs to be more consistent.
