May have different attributes to Small but think he could play at Championship level if Jones varies his formation.3 -
Roughan is one I thought we’d look at, only 21 and can play lcb in a back 3 or left back.7

I think he would be a fantastic signing. Only 21 and already has over 140 senior professional appearances, maybe more. Would really compliment us.
He's at the very least on Edwards and Gillespheys levels so will be competing for one of their spots, as will Famewo for Macca if we sign him. Suddenly we would have very strong left sided defence options which has been rare over the years.
Would be a very welcome addition, hopefully we will be interested as he really suits Jones style and has years on his side to improve.1 -

He’s out of contract but would need to pay compensation due to his age.
We can rule out Poku, Birmingham have offered him a big wage according to Barry Fry.1 -
RJJ would be perfect competition for TC2

This may sound negative, but I am viewing it as sign all the cream of the crop league 1 and either stay up, or have a strong squad next season where we can bounce back.3 -
I know it's fun posting wild opinions... but GRIMMER? Really?
We are in the Championship now.
So let's set our sights higher.
I feel comfortable that Nathan and our recruitment team know whats needed.
(Been a long time since i felt that way).

Sean has done very well since we brought him over from Ireland at 16; as has been posted above, he has made almost 150 first team appearances which is unusually experienced for a 22-year-old. He has also picked up a dozen caps for the RoI U21s and is very comfortable in League One. No one would argue that he has earned a shot at the Championship.
He is in no way a wing-back because he is not quick enough.
He struggles at left-back against quick, tricky wingers - the lack of pace being the same problem.
However, his forte is as a left-sided centre-back, and that is why any club will sign him. As solid as they come.
He is remarkably consistent, a 7/10 every week. He finished third in this season's Supporters' Player Of The Season vote behind winner Tendayi Darikwa and second-placed captain Paudie O'Connor, who is also out of contract. Fancy a two-for-one deal?
He is solely left-footed, gets forward well and puts a lot of crosses into the box; some are good, many are not, and that is probably the crux: can anyone improve that final ball delivery? If they can, they have a winner on their hands.
Perhaps the most notable element of any transfer deal will be that Lincoln will place a significant sell-on fee into the contract, and that tells you that Sean Roughan is a player Lincoln believe can do very well at a higher level.
I would be very pleased to see Sean sign for Charlton, which is a good club with a good manager; Jim Rodwell is a Lincoln boy who was on City's books as a youngster. I am sure Charlton will look after him in the right way.
Sean could also make the wrong choice, and that makes this the most significant decision of his career.15 -

Today we've had Morgan, Aribo & Dougherty join the ever crowded bus that includes Djikstel, Famewo & Carson.
Its utter madness.8 -

Just seen that Swansea might be out of the running for Ethan Erhahon according to one of their board members on the subject of Lincoln.
Sounds like Lincoln are looking for in the region of 1 million and add ons, would love to be in for him, would go straight into our starting XI. Best player on the pitch when we lost at theirs last season 3-1, our midfield couldn't get near him.
Sorensen got all of the plaudits for his attacking work but it was Erhahon who dictated the game. Only 24 as well.

But I think he is best in a back four. How often will we play that way?8 -

Scoham said:The problem I see with Dijksteel is at his age and with his experience he’d command a big wage, but he’s not the attacking WB we need and he wouldn’t come here to be expensive cover for Ramsay.
Very different to Carey who’s younger and this will be his first “big” contract. I doubt he’s on more than Berry, Dijksteel might want a wage that makes him one of our highest earners. Not convinced he’s worth that vs other options out there.0 -
Interesting that so many of the former players being discussed are guys that came (partially or fully) through our system.
I want to believe that anybody we sign, especially if their young age is mentioned as a positive, is markedly better than our own home grown.
It will have to be a very decent player indeed if we sign somebody who gets ahead of Zach Mitchell for example.2 -
