Sounds like Lincoln are looking for in the region of 1 million and add ons, would love to be in for him, would go straight into our starting XI. Best player on the pitch when we lost at theirs last season 3-1, our midfield couldn't get near him.
Sorensen got all of the plaudits for his attacking work but it was Erhahon who dictated the game. Only 24 as well.
with the above chat we’re going to be Lincoln B team next year in the league above 😂MartinCAFC said:Braziliance said:Just seen that Swansea might be out of the running for Ethan Erhahon according to one of their board members on the subject of Lincoln.

I think it's a bit different, as we did win a few games last year where we did ok in midfield, and only a few others stood out for me in midfield as much as he did, but I see your point.
Fraser never really looked like a championship player, just lacked a few qualities. Erhahon is the opposite, has all the foundations of a championship midfielder, just hasn't had a chance to prove it.
It's a bit of a pipe dream signing anyway, but the type I hope we are making. You could build a championship ready team from all the top players in League 1, and their wages wouldn't cause much of a stir.3 -

Problem with erhahon is he plays the exact same position as Coventry. If we’re going to be dropping major money on signings should be in the areas which are the weakest. Coventry easily our most likely midfielder to make the are up2

We are gonna be facing teams with a fair bit more flair than us so we will need to have a strong spine.
It really is dream land but if we were to partner Erhahon with Coventry, splashed the cash on a Keillor-Dunn type to play infront and added some quality up top, we would have a very solid team defensively that could do some damage on the break.3 -

Now that Thierry has been moved on would have loved him to stay I wonder whether we will go to a double pivot in a 4231 allowing tc to be in his most dangerous position wide left. Coventry alongside Galbraith would be an incredible partnership with doc pushing them as well. Would love our marquee signing to be Galbraith then sign three wingers one to compete with Tyreece on the left and two on the right although NJ doesn’t like loans they can be very useful top premier league clubs have got youngsters who could improve our squad massively and not have to break the bank either just look at jrs a few seasons back was our best player by miles. I truly belive if we get recruitment correct and stick with NJ and the team throughout the season we stay up comfortably.8

I'm not totally sold on the concept as it risks giving up just a bit too much of the initiative/impetus for my personal liking... but I wouldn't be totally shocked if we ended up.trying something similar.

I can certainly see us playing with 2 holding midfielders much more next season, especially away from home at the better teams.2

Need two real quality midfielders to compete, I'd only be ok with those options if we were a league 1 side still.2 -

It wasn't just the Coventry-Dobson double pivot that looked poor. The Coventry-Taylor pairing was pretty unconvincing too.1

I think Erhahon is a better player than Dobson personally and has more qualities that will enable him to step up, ditto Coventry.
At risk of daggers as well, I wouldn't be against signing a new left wing back to compete with Edwards. For instance Doughty if the wages weren't a stumbling block.
For me it's just Jones and Ramsay I am 100% confident in the championship with. Coventry, Edwards, TC etc all fall into that bracket just below.
Anyway at risk of derailing, thought Erhahon was a name worth mentioning as he's affordable and it looks like Swansea might be out of the running, unless it's smoke and mirrors by one of their board members.2 -

How could you have forgotten Roland Duchâtelet so quickly?
Following his ownership, I need the reassurance of the club's ambitions on a regular basis.3 -
Coventry famously can't play in a double pivot. He looked completely lost with Dobson there and similarly didn't like having Terry Taylor in his space. Jones teams aren't effective playing that way anyway, the press has to be as high as possible to offset the fact you've traded creativity for tenacity and aggression. A double pivot just creates a gap between attack and defence when the ball does turn over10

Unless TC turns from a winger/occasional striker and Leaburn rediscovers his speed, we need pace at WB or go 3-4-3 with wingers. A younger Godden got 1 in 3 at our new level. Should he be a starter?
Losing Small is a big blow.
I don't see Edwards as the LWB we need. Prefer him at LCB because MG is too slow at this level, or dump Macca and sign Famewo.
We need two pacy wide men. I'd prefer 3-4-3 as we already have Dixon in that format and Akiimwe as cover and Fullah coming through.
Karoy would suit that three up front so we'd just need a younger Chuks or a fit Miles or Mbick to step up in the middle.3 -

But I think he is best in a back four. How often will we play that way?0 -

Grimmer is nothing more than a bully and a thug from League 1 obscurity, he's irrelevant and not good enough for a team playing Championship football17 -

maybe Leaburn and Anderson, none of the young players you mentioned are anywhere near ready for the Championship.1 -
I know people get annoyed with non rumours, but what about Calvin Ramsey at Liverpool. Just finishing a loan at Kilmarnock and has played championship previously.https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/calvin-ramsay/profil/spieler/633652Calvin Ramsay - Player profile 24/25 | TransfermarktBeing able to play RB and RM could see him be a natural replacement for Small.1
