Of it is just us v QPR it will be an interesting test of our ability to land good players.
The uncertainty around QPR's manager will hopefully work in our favour.

QPR also mentioned in the piece as a club interested, hoping Jones and Chappell Brighton links will put us in pole position.
You'd hope our very long history of having a good relationship with Brighton might help us.

Very surprised that Brighton are open to a permanent deal for him. Looked absolutely amazing when I saw him play
A few Blackpool fans on his Instagram saying he will start for Brighton in the next year or two. Think he'd be some signing but in Jones and Chapple we trust.

Offiah - Looks a great signing from a Premiership Club makes a huge statement and he's a Camden boy - In Rich we trust

He played a big part in them coming back from 2-0 down at Blackpool. Kanu couldn't deal with him after Campbell went off and made a number of driving runs forward. I was impressed with him on the day.

Offiah was maybe the best player I saw against us last season. Would be an incredible permanent signing

Second half at Blackpool away we couldn’t deal with him bringing the ball up the right hand side to start attacks

Blackpool fans very complimentary about him:

Certainly up there with the best full backs I’ve seen in a tangerine shirt. He is comfortably championship standard with the potential to go further.

I think he could be a good midfielder, he’s fast, strong and can run with ball

The best of the loanees by a mile. Would love to sign him, and you never know, promotion and SB staying may be enough to make it happen. But probably unrealistic as he is already worth maybe £10M+, given his club, age, performance level and pedigree.

He reminds me of how we relied on Seamus Coleman in our promotion winning season under Holloway, and could only dream of the prospect of having him permanently.

Fantastic player and character. Will be gutted when he returns back. Been extremely consistent and rock solid mostly.

Offiah had a great battle with TC at the Valley. There was a lot of chat between them - maybe they know each other from youth football but both seemed to relish the challenge. At one point Offiah was jockeying TC and saying to him ' go on, get past me, go for it..you got no chance.' He would certainly add something to the squad so I'd be happy with this one.

Offiah - If we take him on loan then we would need to guarantee appearances and Jones aint to keen on loans - however depends what our transfer budget is - we might need to change strategy on transfers in this division - exciting to see how this one develops... thanks Rich our transfer guru

So we've gone from only signing Ipswich castoffs, to only signing Luton players, to only looking in Blackpool for signings?

    😉

If true (and no reason to doubt RC thus far) it hopefully helps alleviate some of the concerns about budget and commitment from the ownership as this wouldn't be a cheap deal to do.

As others have said, think there is certainly legs in this if Cawley is choosing to put this out in the open.

Mmmm……think Brighton will be asking something like £7 to £10 million.
Too much for us I’d say, so realistically it would have to be a loan.😕

Cawley says in his article that Brighton are "open to a permanent deal" so I'd say permanent with a large sell on.

I think the only concern would be how similar he is to Ramsay. In our system last season Offiah would probably slot into his role, but in that away game there were definitely signs he could be used in that wing back role but would definitely be a different profile to Small

"Doing a Preston" and signing players who had a good game against us.  Just specifically that one Blackpool game.

I'd be really pleased if we got Offiah, looks a real prospect and also has a good name for puns.

The question would obviously be "what is his nickname going to be"

    Great Balls
    or
    Chariots

If he's as promising as he seems to be (and he's already played in the PL for Brighton) then surely the sensible thing for Brighton to do is to just extend his contract and loan him again.

If they're open to him leaving then clearly Brighton don't rate him anywhere near as highly as the Blackpool fans.

    GREAT BALLS OFFIAH !!! haha

His uncle was known as 'Wings' as well as 'Chariots'- that will do me.
If we could sign him on a perm it would make a real statement.

We need depth. Ramsay has an injury spell in him. It’s a positive if he is similar. Can slot in.

Unless we’re selling Ramsay! But yes you are right we need 2 good players for each position. I think Offiah would be one of our best players, as Ramsay is already, so hopefully it works when they both play on the right together rather than it having to be one or the other

If they're open to a permanent deal then either Brighton don't rate him anywhere near as highly as the Blackpool fans, or they'll only sell him if there's a buy back fee clause, or a decent sell on fee % in the deal.
Unless it's a similar situation to Coventry at West Ham - can't find a way into the first team but with plenty of potential later on. So the fee is not necessarily enormous but there's devil in the details of sell-ons etc.

Some sort of chant based on Jonny Cash’s “Ring of fire” would be apt (with a nod to the Phoenix’s Yellow Fever for those in the know)
