    I don’t think I know a single Neil Young song - I am 54 for reference
I'm 20 years younger than you and I know loads of songs by him.
He is someone I have heard of for last 35 years but no idea what he sings.

    What is his biggest hit?
will give it a listen to see if he is one of those artists you don’t know, but know their songs
    Harvest Moon
    Rocking in the freeworld
    Old man

Heart of Gold is probably the most recognisable, and After the Gold Rush. That's very early stuff though.
Listen to some of his live albums - 'Weld' in particular - stand out tracks are Cortez the Killer (sensational) and Powerfinger.

Dip in to Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young as well.
  • Enjoyed Maribou States set.

PMSL at the subtitles for Skepta's set  - "Don't eat Pudsey? Liar". Given what he actually sang, that's a weird mental image before bed.
Why would you have subtitles on for Glastonbury?

Because lead feeling under is joint cannon.
  • Currently underwhelmed.  C.MAT who I've  never heard is decent, Capaldi brilliant but little to rave about. 1975 wtf?

    Is Charli xcx miming?
Thought this when I saw her previously. Not seen yesterday yet.

  • As a Neil Young fan I’d go with “good, but not great”, but then again he is 78. His truculence regarding live TV isn’t rational but that’s ol’ Neil for you and he’s a North American so he doesn’t understand the BBC.

But as for the keyboard descending from the heavens on wires, WTAF? That was pure Spinal Tap.

  • Not seen Haim mentioned, really enjoyed their set but have seen them before (on TV) so that helps
  • I watched Burning Spear on Friday afternoon and 90% of his set was a political statement, peppered with calls for people to get on and spread the love.
  • Was he on fire?
  • He is an 80 year old roots reggae original. Still managed to cut some moves, and sing the way he always has.
His fire is in his soul I suppose.
  • Not a surprise but Doechii absolutely smashed it. Quality.
  • John Fogerty's set was decent yesterday. Basically a CCR medley and he still sounds good even at 80

Looking forward to catching up on her set.

Because I have them on all the time (except for when the football's on as it gets in the way), as I have tinnitus since I had Covid, so I can't always make out the words. It also means I don't have to have the volume up so loud when I'm watching late at night, so I'm less likely to disturb my neighbours

Fogerty/CCR's music will live forever and I enjoyed it for that alone. But age has caught up with him - sadly he looked and sounded what he is, a very old man.
    Still a legend.
  • I'm sure it would be fine if they came out and shouted Death to Gaza then?

    Nope…

That’s the point I’m making, imagine the uproar if they’d said that but people just dismiss it when it’s the other way round
  • Fucksake people, do we have to?

Not after what he did for the country in Italia 90 and his Raul Moat fishing attempt. National hero.

Punk bands doing punk band things, a sure-fire way to upset the 50+ demographic.
The over 50s created punk! Well well over 50s.

Yea, music comes second at Glastonbury innit. It's all about spreading the hate.
