Would it not be better financially to sell AMB (not that we'd get much for him) regardless, compared to Mannion, even if we wanted to do that sort of deal, because of FFP / PSR whatever you want to call itCAFCDAZ said:
I think AMB is out the door tbh, which i think is unfair on him but also the right thing to do from both sides. expect a decent fee + % of next fee as part of the dealDamoNorthStand said:That's a true number 1 keeper. No doubts there. He goes straight in.
Wonder what it means for Mannion / Ash? Do we have 3 keepers in the champ?
Its why Chelsea sold Gallagher to Atletico Madrid wasn't it, because oddly you get more pulling power with Financial Rules, by selling your own Academy kids - Again it was part of that merry-go-round that you saw in the Premier League with Chelsea, Everton, Aston Villa and Newcastle selling their academy players to each other to get around the financial constraints.1 -
You mean like third keeper Tommy Reid who made 0 appearances last season?letthegoodtimesroll said:Anyone thinking that if we sign this Luton keeper then we wouldn’t need either AMB or Mannion, or that they wouldn’t be getting much game time is delusional. 3 keepers competing for game time is a minimum, not a luxury. AMB and Mannion will benefit from the extra competition from a more experienced keeper and inevitable injuries, more bookings leading to suspensions and tougher opponents this coming season will mean they’ll all frequently get game time to grab the starting place at some time or other and the opportunity to try and hold on to it for a while.6 -
We've still got Maclorg the lad we signed last summer (?) from Rochdale, who has also been on the bench...fenaddick said:

Braziliance said:🚨 Charlton Athletic have agreed a deal to sign Luton Town goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski.🚨 Kaminski, 32, has spent the last two seasons at Kenilworth Road, suffering back-to-back relegations from the Premier League down to League One.🚨 The Belgian will move to the Championship side for an undisclosed fee, and personal terms between the club and the player have been agreed.

Crawley mentioned offiah so that gives me hope19

I'd be happy if both Mannion and Maynard-Brewer were to go, no point in paying a bigish salary for one who might play 2 or 3 games a season, if that .. Tommy Reid seems well thought of, he'll do as a stand bybobmunro said:fenaddick said:
AMB will definitely be off, would assume we would aim for a sale. Think injuries massively hampered his development and it is unlikely he'll be good enough to play in the Champ. Will get a good move to a high end L2/lower-mid L1 sideDamoNorthStand said:That's a true number 1 keeper. No doubts there. He goes straight in.

He was very popular at Ross County - could be a possibility.0 -
AMB had more than enough opportunities to claim the number one spot. It’ll be best for him and us if he leaves permanently. I think he’ll be a good keeper but needs a sustained period in League One or up in Scotland.3

But can Crawley offer an extra week off to their players? Oh...you mean Cawley.superclive said:Crawley mentioned offiah so that gives me hope25 -

Was a really weird season for our Goalkeepers last year, both Mannion and Maynard-Brewer did good jobs when called upon, and they each only really got back into the starting eleven when the other got injured. The Red Robin said:AMB had more than enough opportunities to claim the number one spot. Apart from the Burton game at the end of the season where Mannion got rested.
Wonder if Mannion would have eventually returned to the eleven anyway, as he was benched for twelve matches when he came back from injury.4 -

We need someone with more experience than Reid as back up. Fine as third choice again.Lincsaddick said:

Mannion was solid. We’ve not had a good run with keepers recently. Hopefully Kaminski puts an end to that.ForeverAddickted said:

He was very popular at Ross County - could be a possibility.Three reliable keepers are required - who goes on the bench if one of the first two choices is injured?I would be happy with Kaminski/AMB/WM or Kaminski/AMB or WM/Reid.1 -
After Ronnie's extra week holiday statement, I was going to make a joke about Charlton being the first football team to allow their players to work from home.
Then I realised in previous seasons it has practically felt like that anyway.
(I still think I made the joke)6 -

Interestingly, Arif Can Yıldız, a sports editor at Ajansspor, says that Kaminski dodged Antalyaspor due to management uncertainties.... has he ever heard of Charlton Athletic?9 -
Crawley is the Ventokele of the journalistic world26

it was lucky we were under a transfer embargo and had blown any budget on range rovers coz if you fuelled yourself with that junk for 24 hours you'd be incapable of thinking straight - will abbott wouldn't have been impressedMendonca In Asdas said:0 -

he did claim the number 1 spot from Mannion if you remember last season, then pulled his groin and came off at half time, can't remember what game. After that Mannion came back in and did nothing wrong, so kept the jersey. The Red Robin said:AMB had more than enough opportunities to claim the number one spot. he did have ambition.....
