Really surprised at this. Part-owner at Macclesfield and they're building something decent there, getting really good attendances, have flown up the leagues and absolutely walked the Northern league last season.

And he's giving that up to manage a club who've had 6 managers since 2022.

Literally 3 months ago he said "It's not about money for me. I'm probably the only unpaid manager in the league. It's not for money, it's for the journey."

Understandable if it wasn't for the ownership part though - Forest Green have a good chance at promotion and then hes a league manager, it's more of a foot in the door than promotion to the NLN etc.

Whilst Leicester are not the Real Madrid of the Championship this shows how far their financial situation has dropped.

I'd not be very happy with this appointment.

Brazil manager Carlo Ancelotti has been sentenced to a year in prison by a Spanish court for tax evasion - but he will not have to serve time in jail.

The former Chelsea and Everton boss was accused of failing to pay 1m euros (£830,000) in tax on his salary during his first spell in charge of Real Madrid from 2013 to 2015.

He will avoid prison but does have to pay a fine of 386,361.93 euros (£333,045.92).
