Crawley appoint Colin Kazim-Richards as manager.0

A massive punt that. Someone who's never managed before, and has little knowledge of L2 either.MarcusH26 said:Crawley appoint Colin Kazim-Richards as manager.0 -
That maybe the case but if he keeps them up at least they can turn around and say:killerandflash said:

"Thanks Colin"7 -
Liam Manning taking the rest of the season as compassionate leave away from HuddersfieldOnly took over in January, but given how Norwich turned out, you have to wonder how much 2024 is still effecting the poor guy0

Honestly I like how Huddersfield have handled the situation, sometimes you have to say football really doesn't matter and this is one of them. That's a good statement from the club too.ForeverAddickted said:Liam Manning taking the rest of the season as compassionate leave away from HuddersfieldOnly took over in January, but given how Norwich turned out, you have to wonder how much 2024 is still effecting the poor guy14 -

tbf once we are (mathematically) safe he'll be getting some championship minutes, so him coming back might work out for him.3 -

So basically he'll just bang in the goals for the reserves.0 -
Coaching in academy football is all about developing players for the future. I'm not sure it's a great grounding for trying to urgently win L2 matches though, when there are just 7 games to go and you're just 1 point above the dotted line.JustFloydRoad said:killerandflash said:

They tried the same thing 2 seasons ago with Kevin Betsy and it was a complete and utter disaster. Won one of 12.JustFloydRoad said:killerandflash said:

Can’t see it myself . Just not good enough for this level.JustFloydRoad said:fenaddick said:

Former Arsenal Academy coach, so coaching experience.Difference being Kevin Betsy managed england youth set up and the Under 23s for Arsenal (so would of had the tin pot trophy experience).I would compare this more to Jack Wilshere at Luton (in terms of coaching experience). But your right though, but you have to consider this is the club that gave Mark Wright a kick about.

Wilshire is probably the better comparison actually! Hadn't thought of that one.JustFloydRoad said:MarcusH26 said:

Just seems like such a risk to take when it feels like if they go down they won't be back in the EFL for a while.1 -

If you're going to bring in a rookie, who's potentially a great coach, but has no managerial experience, then the summer is a sensible time to do it, as it gives him pre season to build a squad suited to his style and implement his "progressive" coaching ideas. And if he's out of his depth, you have time to rescue things with a new appointment.MarcusH26 said:

With SEVEN games to go, you can't drastically change the style of football, so really you need an experienced motivator to improve confidence and team spirit, and make the players work harder.3 -
Perhaps some of the people on here should bear that in mind when berating managers and players.cafc_se7 said:

a couple pf years ago Karoy and TC had large personal situations that the club sorted as best they could but the fans don't get to hear about that, and rightly so. But you really do never know what's going on behind the scenes.
Manning at Huddersfield is another example
People and the press can be so cruel sometimes just for some engagement and its awful8 -
Absolutely these young managers need to be summer appointments, gives them time to bed in and not having to hit the ground running needing immediate results like Crawley do. This should have been an experienced EFL head that knows how to keep sides up.killerandflash said:

Wouldn't be surprised that even with their 13 new signings if this doesn't work out.0 -
Had to check the date...
Breaking: #BristolCity have sacked Gerhard Struber and are appointing former England manager Roy Hodgson for the final seven games of the season. Hodgson has been out of management since leaving Crystal Palace in Feb 2024. More to follow @TeleFootball
— John Percy (@JPercyTelegraph) March 27, 20260 -
That's absolutely mental0
-
It’s a little more nuanced than this. But Bristol City have appointed a manager they sacked 44 years ago, after he oversaw a run of 3 wins in 21 games.
— Jim Proudfoot (@JimProudfoot) March 27, 20262 -
Hodgson is 78 and had some sort of heart scare when he was last sacked as a manager.
Give it up mate.2 -
This feels custom designed to ruin our Good Friday in as annoying a way as possible1
