Ok great I didn’t think I had missed an update. Hopefully he will be back for preseason. Very excited to see how he makes the step up. He has all the talent. Just want to see him show what he can do!!Scoham said:
I don’t it’s been confirmed either way? Jones doesn’t give away much on injuries, I think we’ll need to wait and see if he appears in preseason training photos and the first friendly.Sydneyaddick said:
I didn’t realise Miles is still out for a while. Sorry if I missed it but does anyone know when he might be due back? A fit Miles could really be our wildcard this season I feel!!Scoham said:
Hopefully a few surprises to come, one being another striker as you say.Valley11 said:What’s the thinking then, still to come:
Tanto Olaofe today
Famewo
Burke
Offiah
Galbraith
Would be good. I do think we need some cover for TC.
And potentially we’re still a bit light up front with Miles out.
I think Olaofe will be the competition for TC.0 -
Pretty sure Small wants to play left back. Money aside, isn't one of the reasons why he left so he can play in his natural position?BigRedEvil said:
They just signed a right back in Small, not sure there budget will have room for two right backsJohn_Fitzpatrick1 said:In other news. Preston fans on their forum seem to think Offiah signing for them is building pace.5 -
Interestingly if you read some of Stockport fan comments, they are laughing that we think he can play as a winger, they think he is better suited down the middle. In fairness, when we played them at their place, he was mainly on the left causing Ramsey problems, so agreed he is defo competition for TC but a different player.eaststandmike said:
Olaofe is surely cover for TC, he is a wide player not a centre forwardValley11 said:What’s the thinking then, still to come:

Isn’t TC naturally right sided? He played mostly left last season but I’d expect with Olaofe on the left that he’d switch back to his original position.RedRobin said:

I expect we’ll stick with 3-5-2 so they’ll either play together up front with freedom to drift wide, or one of them will start alongside Godden/Leaburn/another new striker.CafcSCP said:

Being on the left means TC can cut in on his right foot to shoot, which I think suits him more than being on the right.6 -

If we do stick with the same formation replacing small will be key. Galbraith would be ideal as would offiah and we would also need cover both on that side (maybe we would go with Ramsay). We have no cover for Edwards on the left either lots to be done.2 -
Plus I think NJ will want more options and different types of "game changers" to see out or turn around games.Scoham said:

With 9 subs you'd expect three forwards on the bench.4 -

We know German clubs have bid for him in the past. In January he can sign a pre contract with overseas clubs I believe. So currently we are on a lose/lose with him. He spends the season injured or he plays and does well and goes for nothing.
If he won't sign I would be tempted to move him on for whatever we can get with a healthy sell on clause sadly.3 -
If you’ve ever been to Huddersfield, you’d understand why.DOUCHER said:

Shankland not travelled with Hearts for preseason. Would be perfect as Godden alternative and wages not an issue.
Love this to be under the radar and a real quality signing.11 -
I guess with Shankland the question is whether he wants to stay in Scotland, as he’s been there his entire career other than a brief spell in Belgium.Addickinedi said:Shankland not travelled with Hearts for preseason. Would be perfect as Godden alternative and wages not an issue.

I see Shankland was at Beerschot in the Belgian Pro league. Wonder if he was the at the same time as Kaminski🤔

True. The town is not great but the surrounding area is beautiful. Doubt many players live in the town. The big downside in Hudds ambitions to signing him are the league that they’re in. Not location. The Red Robin said:

Agreed. Drive for five minutes and you are in lovely countryside. Take your pick from any number of attractive villages with houses at decent prices.ShootersHillGuru said:

Appreciate the defense but I didn't feel attacked or offended. No one was being personal and just questioning FLWs credibility.CafcSCP said:Is it “Let’s all attack @Braziliance tonight ?
Jeeze give the guy a break, same the other week.
He’s home and away and only posting what he reads on “x” .
when he does post some then moan about not having an account.
FLW have some of our fans as writers about the club.
Its a decent read but then lots of dross rumours,
We all want rumours so let’s not shoot down people linking rumours.
They’re not claiming to be itk.
btw he’s got a pretty decent YouTube account.
Its a fun watch.
Anyway, Kaminski is in and if similar level signings are made, I reckon we will be ok.
Defo a solid start when we know Jones is all about clean sheets.
Thanks though (will slip you the tenner later)12 -
Nevermind, I feel offended.Major said:

Are you suggesting he should just be ignored?
That's not very nice.2 -

Funny that, there are also not many Stoke players that choose to live in Hanley!1 -
Modern wingers tend to cut inside onto their stronger foot, so much of the time are quite central anyway.RedRobin said:
