See Bell as a bit of a Watson upgrade if looking at last seasons squad, someone who is a bit of a jack of all trades and can cover a handful of positions... but is primarily cover for Edwards.
Still need two Right Wing-Backs4 -

That wally of a chairman at P'Boro spouting again.8 -
Obviously if he does sign then you judge him on what he does in a Charlton shirt but Luton fans not too impressed with his post injury form.Hopefully not another Watson
This article slightly worrying:

Isn't Josh Laq out with a long term injury?0
-
Honestly not sure on how long he's out for and wasn't sure whether to include him in any squad depth but thought it was worth it.Henry Irving said:Isn't Josh Laq out with a long term injury?0 -
I think I’d have been more surprised if Bell didn’t happen tbh given that he can play LCB, LWB, he plays for Luton, he’s on a free and he’s Jamaican. Not a bad signing and Burke is a very good player too apart from injuries.Jordan Clark is another at Luton that we might look at I think.Hopefully it’s not much more than that given this is a team that just got relegated.1

I take this as we didn’t want to get to that number as opposed to we couldn’t.king addick said:https://the72.co.uk/2025/07/04/charlton-athletic-failed-malik-mothersillle-bids-detailed/

Clark I jokingly mentioned yesterday , would make a lot of sense because we need to strengthen in there but I don't especially fancy just signing Luton players and would want someone a bit younger.covered_end_junior said:I think I’d have been more surprised if Bell didn’t happen tbh given that he can play LCB, LWB, he plays for Luton, he’s on a free and he’s Jamaican. Not a bad signing and Burke is a very good player too apart from injuries.Jordan Clark is another at Luton that we might look at I think.Hopefully it’s not much more than that given this is a team that just got relegated.2 -

Anyone that has a nickname name for themselves (DMac) shouldn’t be listened to3

An announcement this early, maybe a double deal Friday?5

Bell would make a lot of sense but I hope it’s just Luton fans being salty on back to back relegations why they’re saying he’s lost it rather than he actually has0

Very early - time for 1 or 2 more today? 🙏🏻fenaddick said:9 -

There was not much footage from the players first day back.

I actually love that nobody knows for certain who this one is, the fact you always know who the signings are before they happen saps the fun out of it - I’m gonna guess Akin Famewo1

Would take Bell as the left sided cover, one I thought of when the freebie lists came up.
Champ experience and enough ability to step in if/ when needed.0 -

He obviously just wanted out judging by his salty comments.0 -
Hope its a good one we never saw coming 🙏🏻🤞🏻0

Cawley’s also said on his podcast AMB wants to stay. Confirmed (no surprise) his and Mannion’s wages aren’t big so we could keep them both.7
