Tebbit was major part of the Thatcher cabinet that destroyed the UK manufacturing base and impoverished large swathes of the country due to a bigoted dislike of unions. I'm not sure how old you are but you should read up on history before you make uninformed statements.

Lord Tebbit was a divisive politician during the Thatcher administration. He did however speak for a large percentage of the electorate, given MrsT and her brand of Conservatism was re-elected more than twice.
He was never a favourite of mine, I could see a political slogan disguised as a truism a mile off. (Get on your bike and look for work) But he was an elected politician, and that is how democracy works.

They did a Saville one where strong words were had with people who suggested he was a nonce.
