Oysters   . I absolutely adore them . Served with pickled Shallots and Tabasco sauce . Whitstable oysters are a particular favourite.
Great taste in films……shit taste in grub 😄

only ever tried an oyster once (if you exclude the ones from Tonibell).
It proper wiped its feet before finally going down. Vile muck.

Beef Wellington, but that nice Australian lady who was going to make it with fresh foraged mushrooms has had to withdraw the offer...

Really like it, but it's something that defeats me when I try to make it.

    Tonibell chime

Cue someone saying that their mum said the chime meant they had run out of ice cream...

Liver. The wife or daughters won’t touch it and I very rarely cook.

Kippers or mackerel. I’m not allowed it as it stinks the house out. I love kippers for breakfast.

Chicken Chassuer. I love it. No one else does.

Cheese and potato pie. My favourite dinner in the world. Death row meal. I get it about twice a year and it still ain’t as good as my dad’s.

I could go on. A house full of yo yo dieting women. Who seem to think that eating spaghetti fucking bolognese twice a week is ok. That or bastard chicken fajitas.

    I feel better now. Thanks.

    Cheesy Beany Pasta.

Might be specific to me, but I pretty much lived on this for three years as a student. Not hard to work out the principle ingredients, alongside a very decent squirt of salad cream and pepper, mixed until a congealed mess.

Even better when served between two slices of cheap white sliced bread.

For some reason my kids don't like it and therefore I rarely have it.

Pasta in Italy tastes so much better than in England. So I only get that when on holiday.

Swordfish, kangaroo, alligator. Used to be able to buy all three in Tesco - can only get thm from specialist meat vendors now.
You should be able to get swordfish from most fishmongers.

Yeah - none that local to me, but there is one about 15 miles away that does it. Absolutely love a good swordfish steak with lemon, tomatoes, garlic and rice

My kids agree. I should have added that it is best served with a liberal dash of Worcestershire Sauce. Does that sound any better?

For a bit of balance, the worst pasta dish I have been served was in Italy.  That was a few years ago. Last week I was in Genoa, and the pizza I had was several levels below Pizza Express. The best pizza I've ever had was in New York. A controversial opinion maybe, but Italian cuisine is massively overrated.

    Not in the slightest mate.

Even ignoring the beans (assuming it’s baked beans), salad cream only belongs on salad and even then it should be on salad that’s in a sandwich with ham

Depends where you go, Florence I probably had the best week of my life, food-wise. every meal was top notch and nothing disappointed, even the dubious stuff like Lampredotto (tripe sandwich) was delicious

I'm pretty certain that the only other way to eat pasta in Italy would be living there...

Did you miss the word "opinion"?

And yes I'll stand by it. I've had the pleasure of eating in over 40 countries world wide - Italy is certainly above Russia, Finland, Sweden etc, but in my opinion is below Spain, France, Lebanon, Greece, and even Japan.

If you need more balance, River Cafe is one of the best restaurants I've been to in London - so Italian can be excellent.

I agree about Italian food, proper overrated but mostly by Italians. How touchy they are about re-arranging pasta, tomato and basil is ridiculous.

Fried bannanas, avacado, steak, pork belly, rice & black beans, soup with chicken bone inside improving the taste, mexican made tacos. All Excellent.

The UK have contributed towards the food industry aswell...as mentioned above.

    Jellied eels 🤢

We are a funny nation. We can't invent anything nice to eat (fish & Chips ain't bad just average)

But we can produce a number of globally recognised massive twat chefs.
