Mad as a box of frogs…..but in the best of ways, a bizarre yet endearing extrovert.

My Dad worked in the city and Ozzy would phone to speak to his mate who ran the show. My dad and Ozzie spoke for hours and hours, a completely nice bloke and my dad bless him had no clue as to who Ozzy was or how famous he was. RIP The prince of darkness.2

Gutted to see this. Performing to the last, but sadly to say goodbye to a Rock legend

Friend Or Defoe said:Utter maniac of a bloke who was lucky not to have gone 40 years ago. Well established in the best ever front man conversation, Sabbath weren't the same band when he wasn't there. For the record he was never a Villa fan.
Timed the final show very well.

Not many bands can claim to have invented a whole genre of music - not just an offshoot weird and wonderful genre but as mainstream as it can get. So many that came afterwards owe so much to Sabbath and to Ozzy.Another hero gone - Rest in Peace Ozzy.7

In a footnote, Bruce Wayne of the Royal Society for the protection of Chiroptera said "Good riddence"1 -
An entire genre is traced back to him and Black Sabbath. It’s crazy to say it out loud, but even an absolute giant of a band like Metallica does not exist without them. That gig a couple of weeks ago felt legendary before it had even happened. It takes on a whole new meaning now.
So much of the perception of Ozzy has been about his TV / celebrity persona, but make no doubt about it, he is/was a top tier pioneer. The musical landscape would have been very different without his influence.
RIP Ozzy. And a massive thank you, from a lifelong heavy metal lover.7 -
RIP OZZY, One of life's real characters, really can't take it in at the moment, Black Sabbath are the very cornerstone of Heavy Metal, and I am gutted at the sad news I have just heard on the news, Rest in Peace mate...sad sad day...3
