Bristol City [A] tickets to go on restricted sale

If you bought your Bristol City tickets online today, you will have seen the seating plan at Ashton Gate,  where the away sections are, and the seats so you COULD choose where you wanted to sit. 

Do we think this is a one off or this is the sensible way for away matches from now on ?

QPR is expensive with a crap view to boot. Think that will put a few off, has done me, especially as it's another early kick off and on TV.

You only get the upper tier at QPR now, expensive tickets are offset by almost no travel costs for most.

Tickets will be like gold dust. 

And if memory serves me right, if you’re sitting a few rows back you can’t even see the goal line below you. Such a tinpot stadium! 

Did anybody actually sit down last time we were at Loftus Road ? Pretty sure we must have been in those first 4 rows in the upper tier and we were standing throughout and I can’t recall any problems with seeing goal lines

Tbh it didn't matter much at Cambridge as there were quite a few spare seats anyway, I didn't pay much attention to who sat where and my guess is there was a bit of sit where you like anyway because of the spare space and because some of the aisle end seats weren't protected from the rain by the roof. 
Colchester last night there was plenty of space and we were told sit where you like by the stewards as we went in.
When seats are sold out though and especially if some views are limited or seats are affected by the weather conditions causing people to move to be in a better seat........ or they just move because they want to....... I can imagine there being problems...... whether they are brought to the attention of the stewards and whether the stewards do anything about it.....?
The seat view maps are really useful but I think it will depend to an extent on people being honest and decent and on some element of 'necessary policing' by the home club. I wonder if Charlton will do the 'policing' bit down at the Valley?

Sorry if I'm missing something obvious but can't see it mentioned anywhere - is there a limit to how many tickets you can buy when it hits your tier?

There is a variety of appetite for enforcement of reserved seats by home clubs, as well as a different approach by different fans. 

I've just had a look at the map on the CAFC ticketing site again and I'm wondering whether we have blocks N40 & N36 too but just not put on sale yet as those 3 blocks available doesn't look to have 2,500 seats, probably closer to around 1,200ish.

Thanks for this. I tried searching for views from seats, but I didn't come across this one . It looks like you have more or less the exact seat I would have chosen, but my estimate of which seat would have been the middle was slightly off and I am sat a few seats away from you in the row behind.

It's going to be shit because everyone who wants to stand together can't buy their tickets together, but will still want to stand with each other. Then the usual 'you're in my seat' crowd will be even more aggy about it because they've actually chosen their seat this time.

Let's see what happens. Whenever I sit elsewhere and somebody complains that I am in their seat, I accept that I got unlucky and find another seat. Sure, some groups might be argumentative, but now that we can pick our seats and they aren't random, there's a much stronger case for being able to sit in your seat.

If the large groups don't like it, all they have to do is go to more away games, then they can pick their seats. This system rewards those of us that attend every game by giving us the best seats whereas historically the club have just been picking up whichever tickets are on the top of the pile, which often gives those who buy first the worst seats.

I do remember a ridiculous incident at Huddersfield away last season where a group of about 20 people showed up 2-3 minutes before kick-off and began complaining that there was no space for their entire group to stand together, but they accepted the fact that it wasn't possible.

It's a tricky one, goes back to what I have said before regarding most things in life, either strict rules or no rules. That way no one can complain. 

I am a snob, so I think everyone should stand and make noise for the whole game, but that isn't how every football fan is, some people cant manage that, and some simply don't want to, and that's their choice.

I think this will cause more issues because people actually selecting their seat will believe they are more entitled to it, and in a way, they'll actually be right for once as their points will give them the luxury of choosing a good view.

It will cause issues again like every season no doubt either way.

I think people might find the stewards a little more organised in the Championship and enforcing people to sit in their allocated seat.
