In 67 years he was the greatest centre half I have ever seen play for us….and I have seen some great ones.
Deceptively fast but never looked rushed, simply because he knew all the short cuts.
Cool and collected, tough as nails but could never be classed as a dirty player.
Always intrigued me to see the way he tutored Jonathan Fortune and turned them into a formidable pairing for a while. I am certain if you asked Jonathan the best player he played alongside he would say it was “ The tank”.
    RIP…..Jorge…..RIP. 👋🏼👏🙁

The Fish Costa fortune era was where we peaked as a club. Was there for his debut and there for his last game. As others have mentioned, I always thought he would manage us one day. A very sad day. RIP.

Shocked by this news. Apparently a heart attack at the training centre of his beloved Porto. A wonderful character and world class defender. Will always live on in my best ever Charlton 11.

Devastating news, one of the best players I’ve seen in a Charlton shirt. No doubt the club will hold a minute silence in memory of Jorge and young Ethan. Life is so precious. RIP the Tank

First, Terry Reid,  now big Jorge. Bad day for legends! Fabulous centre back who did more in half a season than many of our other legends.  He was immense in the final day draw at Old Trafford.  RIP Jorge.

Will never forget the headline when Charlton were marching up the table with Jorge next to Jon Fortune at the back.

Costa , Fortune - Costa Nothing.

Jorge will always be fondly remembered by Charlton fans as a great.

    What a player for Charlton.
2002 World Cup. Always remember this player with pride. Came to our club to save / recovery his career.

One of the few foreign footballers I enjoyed watching.

    RIP

That's really hit me to be fair!  He's only 5 years older than me

Unbelievable player and it was a privilege to see im play for us and to meet him.  Such a calm, quiet and unassuming guy - completly different to the guy on the pitch

    RIP Jorge
