  • Going to be very hard to drop him for Knibbs if he continues at this level, was excellent today.
  • Really liked him!
Bit of class, lots of hard work and chasing and the odd spark - he looks like bags of potential. Him and Rapter work well together and bounce off each others styles

He and Coventry have to be starters at the moment, leaving Doc to ‘earn’ his place
  • Real competition for places in there. Carey played like someone determined to take his chance, but then Knibbs came on and grabbed the winner. Jones will have a decision to make there, unless he feels one of them can play defensively minded enough to take Doc’s position. And that’s without us having seen JRC yet.

I found it interesting that Knibbs replaced TC, even if only for a few moments, he was the second striker.
  • The new player I wanted to see the most
Had a really good feeling about him when we managed to get him and I was impressed.
    Works his nuts off.
I think Carey Campbell Apter Knibbs will be the envy of a lot of clubs when it clicks

I think you can play all 3 - Knibbs, Carey and Coventry , but it will require better out balls - having Leaburn and Olaofe as channel running out balls made us look more potent and dangerous - whether that was because they were more fresh and are therefore better as impact subs remains to be seen, but we were better when they were on and that would mean that the lack of real ball players in midfield would hinder us less .
  • Looked like he has a touch of class about him. Loved Knibbs’ energy and obviously the goal but all our best play came through Carey in the first half. Hopefully we can find a way to play the both of them.

  • Looks like the embodiment of ‘Jones’ type player.
  • Was the signing i was least excited about, and the signing i was most impressed with yesterday... thought he was faultless
  • Super impressed with him yesterday. Great running with the ball, gets stuck in, and showed lots of quality such as when he took out down on the run seamlessly before his run and shot in the box. Really good debut
  • Looks like a great example of signing a player who you think fits your system and style of play regardless of pedigree. No big fee, no massive fuss bur he looks like a classic NJ player. There’s a real touch of the Luke Berry’s to how he plays
  • Encouraging debut. Our best midfielder yesterday but Docherty and Coventry both looked very rusty.
  • Showed a great bit of strength when the defender bounced back off him when bearing down on goal in their box. Looked useful.
  • Did remind me a bit of Nicky Bailey, in his style of play, hope his penalties are better!
  • Thought he was brilliant yesterday and was honestly surprised just how good he was. Him and Apter really linked up well. It's funny was only saying to my old man the other day that i felt a bit sorry for Sonny. The first signing through the door. But most people were thinking knibbs was his replacement before he'd made his debut! Im sure both will see plenty of game time and Nathan will probably switch them between roles. That was a cracking debut COYA

    Didn’t dive as much.

I think what didn't help Carey was it was rumoured he was 1 of the 4 who were supposedly 'lined up' regardless of what division we were going to be in, I think he said himself he was watching the Play Off Final nervously which suggested he had possibly already agreed to come and so could potentially have been a signing if we were in League One and also at a time when nobody knew what sort of budget we had to spend.

But I think it helped he was first through the door and with the team for pre season from the start which I think helped his case to start the game yesterday but as others have said he was very impressive in his own right and probably the sort of performance we'd all like to see from Knibbs when he's ready to start games so it makes it very hard to drop Carey if he keeps performing like that. I was a bit doubtful to how impactful he'd be but certainly surprised me in a good way.

Feels like we've now finally moved on from the likes of Fraser, Morgan etc to have Carey, Knibbs and even Berry to all be options in that part of the team.
