Why is the shirt manufacturer SOLDJOK?
I’m still trying to work out what it says on the badge…🤔

Made it into the Championship & EFL team of the week. Ffs.

Can't he just have an off day once to put people off. Come on Kayne.
I may be off my rocker... But I'm all for it. The higher he raises his profile, the more money we'll get.

If Stevie Brown was the master of the block tackle, then this bloke is the king.
As if that isn't enough, he glides past opponents going forward, in a way that Paul Mortimer would have been proud of.

Morts was also a classy defender, often much criticised as a winger because he didn't jump in; merely waited for the forward to commit left or right.

Saw him many times for the stiffs playing LCB in a four. Not sure he ever played at the back for the 1st XI.

Got a similar one elsewhere of Charlie Kelman...
or “CK” as your wife calls it.
  • Kayne Ramsay Ramsay,
    He’s better than Chris Solly,
    Shits over Lionel Messi,
    Kayne Ramsay Ramsay

  • He's the 1 player in our side that I think could comfortably step up to the premier league.  Fabulous player.

How he ended up in League 2 I'll never know

If you look on MotD during the post match interviews, they had a ticker with all the incomings and outgoings of all the Prem sides with very few below £15m. If you consider that Ezri Konsa moved from Championship Brentford to Villa for £12m six years ago, then IF he can maintain his form we should be using at least £15m as a benchmark starting price.
Know he is a fair bit older, but Ramsay is significantly better than Konsa was for Charlton imo. If he carries on like this he will go for big money next year

    Maybe Dragan Solak dislikes him.

    Quite like that tbf.

Don't mind the chant he has, but he isn't really a winger so doesn't suit him.

It's nearly 40 years ago now, so my memory is a bit fuzzy, but I could've sworn that when we signed Morts (when we were spelling it Mortimore) he was described as a left wing back. I don't think he ever played as a full back, although I suppose it's possible if Mark Reid had to go off injured, but I do remember how good at tackling he was. My Dad used to say that he had telescopic legs, as just when you thought the ball had got away from him, he'd manage to stretch a bit further and hook the ball away.
To get back on topic, for me Kayne's probably a Richard Rufus / John Humphrey hybrid - not as imperious in the air as RR or as good at crossing as JH, but combining enough of the strengths of both that he's bloody good at either right back or on the right of a back 3.
  • Counting FL trophy minutes is unfair I think, he will have been playing for the U21s and we’ve seen even the top u21 teams just get outmuscled

I said this because I knew someone would say something like that "For the record, I am not, of course, for one minute suggesting that these results were in any way his fault but it would have been very difficult for him to stand out when all around him were failing."

Losing isn't fun whoever you are playing for or against. Equally. I'm not sure that you can discount FL trophy minutes when he played against Man City and Man Utd in the same seasons as those games and was considered strong enough to play against as big but quicker and more skillful players than the likes of Shrewsbury and Northampton.

All I was trying to do is to demonstrate that his whole experience at Southampton was a disaster - from playing for them at any level to being sent out on loan to Crewe, being recalled and straight back out to Ross County. Even the Crewe Manager knew nothing about it 'til it had happened. All of that, combined with injuries, cannot have put him in a good place. Any athlete can be the best physically in their sport but if their mind isn't right then they are never going to show their best.
  • I wasn’t suggesting FL trophy results were his fault either. I was saying that it’s harsh to count them as senior minutes when he was playing for an U21 side. He would not have been expected to win those games so the context around them being disappointing is different, it will still hurt of course but not as much as the other examples you gave

Well their U21s beat MK Dons and Colchester without using him. That won't have made him feel any better about things. As I keep trying to emphasise - it's not our perception of how things are going that matter. It's his and defeat after defeat including a 9-0 thrashing after which you're given one minute of football at the club before your dream of being a Premier League footballer is seemingly over, relatively unsuccessful loans and injuries aren't good for the mind. The one thing you need then is stability and to feel wanted. He got that at Harrogate and even more so now and that ultimate dream is still very much on. Hopefully with us too.

This. Let’s keep it on the DL. Also, let’s be honest he was poor in the last two games. Positionally dreadful and didn’t seem to know where he was playing. Some of his tackles were reckless at best and he was lucky not to get booked or worse. He put in very little effort and didn’t even bother to clap the fans at full time.
I'm glad you've picked up on his attitude. He must be terrible for dressing room morale.
  • Jones described contract talks with Ramsay as “ongoing” in Rich’s latest Substack article.

Is anyone able to shed light on Kane's contract situation, as mentioned in a Rich Cawley post today? - I presume that its simply to say that we're in discussions with Ramsey about extending his deal?

Edit: Talk about timing with Callem posting at the exact same time
  • He has a contract til June 2027
  • He has a contract til June 2027
Would rather he didn't get to next summer with simply a year left on his deal though... Feels like it would give Kayne and suitors a bit more power over the situation.
  • Feels like the Thierry situation a year ago.

And the really good players will become less inclined to sign an extension based on an unwritten promise (e.g. Isak although he hadn't signed an extension and still has three years to run) so, perhaps, we can persuade him to sign one that has a release clause of "x" amount written in. The issue then becomes what figure is acceptable to club, player and his agent.
  • He’s a London lad so hopefully will be happy to stay….a Rolls Royce of a player….

Not to me it doesn't, for starters he signed longer than a 6 + 12m deal. He also still has 2 years left to run, that's a long time in football. I think if we have a decent season Ramsay signs a new deal with a release clause for PL clubs. We were the club Small stepped down to, for Ramsay that was Harrogate and we are a step back in the right direction
