What those speculating that the truth hasn't come out are saying implies they don't believe her explanation. That's disrespectful to her without supporting evidence, not heresay, to the contrary. She deserves better IMO
I wish her well in her next venture.0 -

Fumbluff said:raytreacy69 said:bolloxbolder said:So just to be clear.
@raytreacy69 said the reason why Abbott and Leaburn leaving was Jones.
@Bailey said someone in the know had refuted this. @SoundAsa£ asked where on CL that rumour was refuted. Seemingly no one can find it. I certainly have never seen it and I believe there would have been a lot of discussion about it.
@KBslittlesis said (I think) that she'd spoken to Tracey who was in bits about leaving. I read that to mean she was unhappy about her departure.
So until someone can direct @SoundAsa£ and myself to the post refuting Jones's involvement, I will go with the version of a long respected lifer. Will the real Raytreacy please stand up and we will assume any others to be positioned at the grassy knoll awaiting instruction…3 -

thetomahawkkid said:Gribbo said:Wonder if Tracey leaving might be something to do with making it easier in the future for Miles to go, should an offer come in and all things line up.
Its not always easy working at the same place as your mum/son no matter how well you get along, Tracey has probably factored his future and development in terms of Miles moving away from Charlton at some point. Maybe after the 10 years she has had at the club, she wants a new job/challenge like she has said? With some of the people we have had at this club who she has had to face you can barely blame her at all for that. With going above and beyond like she does, it has to take its toll sooner or later. Maybe she just wants to come back as a fan, Watch Charlton and see Miles play football, without all the stress of the matchday while working?
Now the club seems to be in a stable place especially. We have Gavin Carter at the helm, who is a Charlton fan. We are having a great start to the season and had an amazing transfer window.
I completely understand why she has chosen to leave now, she does not owe anyone here any kind of extended explanation.
Thank you for everything Tracey Leaburn.
All the best to you in the future.

I hope when I leave my job there’s a 19 page thread of conspiracies on how I could not possible have left of my own volition27

Number 6:
I will not make any deals with you. I've resigned. I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own. I resign.
Apparently Tracey is on a beach somewhere, although this thing keeps following her around and some bloke called number two keeps asking her why she resigned, he doesn't get it Tracey is not a number she is a free woman. She has got a very nice Lotus 7 though.

Shame on you posters who have turned this thread into a debate. It's unnecessary and disrespectful. Tracey deserves better. Wishing Mrs Leaburn the very best and thanking the wonderful lady for all she has done is ALL that should be written on here.27

Slight side issue. I left my last permanent job, four years ago, after 15 years working closely with a great team of NHS staff. This week I had an opportunity to drop in to the office, unannounced, and I received a lovely reception from loads of people giving hugs and genuine affection. It was lovely to get such a warm reception, as I hadn't really kept in touch with anyone, as I don't do social media, and they aren't my friends outside of work. It meant so much to me, to be reminded how well I was thought of by my peers.
I think that wherever Tracey goes, however long she is gone, she will hold a special place in the hearts of so many people connected to Charlton, and that importantly is what she takes with her, not a pay-off or a clock, just the love, respect and heartfelt best wishes.
"Impossible to replace" is what Dean Holden said, never a trueer set of words!15 -
I'm pretty sure I'm not dyslexic, but trying to keep track of which Treacy or Tracey we're talking about at any given point is starting to make my head hurt.16

I admit I am intrigued, however not to the point that I would actively go out of my way to do anything to put any effort to finding out why.
I am prepared to bide my time, as I’m sure that it will become common knowledge eventually.
I admit I did wonder how it was that NJ was being dragged into the situation when it first was suggested, because that was an entirely different kettle of fish……at the time that is.
That’s what put the whole matter onto another sphere…..and understandably so.0 -
It was only dragged into that sphere by people who were desperate to believe that NJ was upsetting the staff around him, even when it was explained that it was not the case. I wouldn't have thought NJ would lose to much sleep over a few fans disagreeing with him but to have a feeding frenzy over unsubstantiated rumours about two people, who have brought a good deal of joy to this club, is simply wrong.3
-
It was also people who were desperate in “not” wishing to believe that NJ had any involvement, myself included.
So a double whammy if you like.0 -
I hear that Brian Cole has also 'left his role' (or been replaced) .. are we getting TOOOO 'professional' ?1

I was a tad disappointed that no one from the SMT/other back room staff or NJ was in the official goodbye Tracey video.
No conspiracy from me just a missed opportunity to show us as a united, caring club. I’m sure Charlton are like this in the background, but it could’ve been a chance to show the fans how well Tracey is thought of by everyone at the club, not just the players.Just because the club has been well run recently doesn’t exempt them from any criticism, however minor this is.
I’m going to miss Tracey, a true Charlton legend. I wish her all the best in the future. See you in the stands Trace!2
