  • Early prediction: he’ll be back on loan at Orient by the end of January
No shot, we’ve spent far too much on him to loan him out

Genuinely what worries me most about Kelman is your opinion towards him.

You're probably the most patient poster on here, so if you say that Kelman is no good... well its one of those examples where there may well have to be something wrong... Have never felt that you've got blind faith, but equally don't recall you having this "attitude" towards a player before.
  • Our fans love an early season scapegoat.  Truth of the matter is that we have 4 healthy forwards, none of whom have substantively played in the Championship and none of whom have been very good so far this year.  The only reason that Kelman is getting grief is the fee we paid for him which isn’t his fault plus the fact we give more leeway to our youth players neither of which have been good either.  Let’s give all of them a few more games before we start talking about failures - it’s only been 3 weeks FFS
I agree we should give him more time but think it's unfair to say that isbwhy he's being singled out. The other 3 strikers whilst also not scoring have all contributed much more with their allround game than Charlie. And that is the issue/concern. If he doesn't score he doesn't add much elsewhere.
  • The only part that concerned me was Knibbs on the right hand side putting in a lovely cross towards the edge of the box.....and Kelman was just strolling about outside of the box watching the play ahead of him.

Should've been busting a gut to get in the box.
  • Tuesday night is a big game for him... Can see him starting with Tanto

He just seems to have no role within the setup.  Hopefully it will get worked, out but he offered nothing after coming on today offer than a poor pass, when we had the opportunity to create something.

Callum, I feel like because, by your admission, you don't rate him that you're not giving him a fair chance.

  • Tbf fed off scraps today. But tbh that’s what godden’s been doing and has made it work. Whatever you feel about him we just haven’t been playing to his strengths, my fear is we’ll never have the luxury of being able to do so.
  • He did one bit of excellent play where he dropped off, laid the ball off and busted a gut to get forward. I got really excited then but after that he seemed to be walking most of the time

Possibly. I’ll zip it for a couple of weeks and see how things are after Millwall, probably.

He just isn’t passing the eye test, with or without the ball. Even the pressing was fairly non-existent for someone who should’ve been fresh.
I don’t see how he fits into our system right now. We don’t play to his strengths and, based on an admittedly small sample size, he doesn’t offer much else if you aren’t playing to his strengths. Either we or him have to change or this will be a disaster.
  • I do think the issue is bigger than just one player however and that's why Leaburn (although he did play better overall) didn't get many clear-cut chances either.

For sure, he hasn't made much of an impression so far but it is really early days.  I'm just surprised as you normally see things through a positive lens - you're probably the poster that I agree with most, in general.
  • I hope he comes good. We was on the attack down the right today and instead of passing in front of the player, he passed it behind him which slowed everything down. Lots to improve on.
  • He will score next week at QPR

Wasn't the only one guilty of that. So many passes are played to or behind the player and not into the space for them to run on to. Leaburn failed to play Doc in when it was the obvious ball to play.
  • Can’t judge him as a player yet, but I really don’t think he suits the system from what I’ve seen.

Will be interesting to see how it pans out, because currently I’d have him behind Leaburn, Olaofe and Godden for that ST role.
  • QPR fan I know says they’ve pulled our pants down on this one !

If he was any good they would have kept him surely ?
  • Being there i didnt notice a lack of effort by him tbh and think its very very harsh to judge him today with the time he was given on the pitch

To Score against QPR next week who are getting battered at the min 🙏🏻🤞🏻

  • Needs a start against Cambridge in the cup, needs a confidence boost and hopefully playing against L2 defenders will do that

it’s looking so bad I’m worried they might have a new manager by then

I've defended him. I think he's a really good player. But I can't abide that lack of effort today. The guy was walking.
    This. He looked so disinterested.

The law of exes makes it a certainty.

The big question though is, will he refuse to celebrate the goal OR will he cock an ear to the home supporters?
