    Plenty of decent Free Agents.

Diagana, Mee, Jamal Lewis, Antonio, Craig Dawson, Redmond, Dasilva (injury prone).
You had your 45 minutes back in the day, we wont be making that mistake again

Mee and Redmond are training with Sheff U. Diangana is probably the only one I would have.

Tonight proved once and for all that Mitchell isn't as ready as some on here laud him to be, thought he was pretty disappointing overall

You probably should balance that with fact there was only one senior defender in that back three and another youngster in the right wing back position. It's probably worth mentioning that Zach came back from Scotland with an injury and our short pre-season did no one any favours.

I'd love us to pick up Craig Dawson. Just on principle, always enjoyed watching him play over the years. Don't know if he can run anymore but seeing him in a Charlton shirt would make me happy

Trouble with looking to sign any CB is either you bring in someone to replace Bell, Jones or Ramsay from the first team or you have to bring in someone to sit on the bench which makes it difficult to bring in a loan signing as teams will want there player to play.

So we would need to try and find a CB that could be picked up fairly cheaply and happy to start on the bench. Not impossible but a hard task to do. Maybe the Scottish leagues has someone who would gladly take the step up and better wages on offer and settle for a place on the bench to begin with.

Realistically though probably a free agent until January may have to do.
Potentially could be an out of favour cb at another championship club that just wants them off the wage bill similar to McIntyre although someone a bit better than him now we’re in the championship. Duffy a good example

Found that Reece Oxford is out of work and only 26.
Very sad to see his career has ended at present due to Long COVID. I hope he has a full recovery.
  • Okay so bear with me on this because it’s a stretch.

Marc Boyan one of the investors in Charlton, is somewhere which has what looks like Kanji on the plate otherwise known as the Japanese style of writing. I’m not an expert and it could definitely be another language. But is he in Japan fronting a delegating to finish the Fakuda signing? The IYKYK with the emojis leads me to believe that is the case. Long shot and it’s up there with Mrs Apter following the club. But something to think about?

Hate to kill this one early on but think that’s toastbox. A Singaporean chain restaurant that doesn’t operate in Japan

You're probably thinking of his brother. I was just making a little joke that doesn't seem to have landed

    Yes, copied directly from ChatGPT:

In Japanese, toast is written totally differently: トースト (tōsuto)
    vs
The plate in the story uses 土司 (tǔsī) — the Chinese loanword for toast.

Was a nice thought, even if it only lasted 5 minutes

NJ now bemoans lack of cover in defence, after signing a player with a very well known injury record, who then plays a part in the 1st pre season game, and gets injured badly enough that he's missed the 1st month of the season.

The Burke singing is a little daft imho. He may have quality, but he's crocked.
He not  crocked been training over a week with the first team .. all players get niggles in pre season look at Godden and Berry it’s negative side of getting to the playoff final and the shorter pre season you have afterwards

Yeah I  thought Mitchell played v Stevenage.  However on the loan thread someone said he played for Plymouth this evening?
Very odd... You're right Alex Mitchell has played for Plymouth against Swansea, and he definitely played for us against Stevenage... Am very surprised he's not cup tied, unless its no longer a thing.
Understandable mistake. Far too many Mitchells around. I suggested in another post that the EFL only allow one player to be registered per surname. Look at the confusion we got into with Smiths. Signed three before we got the one we really wanted, and it turned out he was rubbish anyway.
Heaven knows I'm miserable now !

It's funny, I think most of us thought the last week wouldn't consist of much at all and it wasn't inconceivable that we wouldn't sign anyone. Now we're getting close to the end things are feeling a bit more urgent

I was expecting a chilled out deadline day. Maybe the odd U21 loan somewhere in the National League or Scotland. Now I'm wondering if we're actually going to be very active

FOUR Days and counting...time is tight.
Cryptic clue there, so we have agreed terms with Booker T and the MG's.

Hope not. Equally not surprised Pompey have struggled to shift him.
