  • Has anybody heard a mention of this game on TalkSPORT this week ? It seems like every time they start mentioning this weekends games they rattle off just about every match except this one.
It is bizarre how they fail to mention it...
    Wrexham and Birmingham not involved
  • In honour of happyvalley: Comfortable home win 4-0
  • Anyone thinking of parking along Riverside tomorrow it will be extra busy. The firms car parks are being line painted so there will be more cars than normal on the road.
  • Only one result. They are winning away & can't see anything but them recording 3 in 3 away wins this season.

However, IF we are going to get anything from the game then we need to rest the players just back from International duty & play those that have presumably been working on stuff all week. So drop TC & play Tanto against his old team.

    0-3.
I was agreeing with you until the result prediction. If that’s the case we’d better just play the same team.

I'm absolutely buzzing for my boy to be walking out with the team in front of a close to capacity ground at The Valley, I can feel myself getting emotional about that by itself.  My dad is travelling up from Cornwall as well so it will be the first time we have three generations together watching a game.  For once I really don't care about the result.

BUT...everyone has something that happens in life or is going on that says "this will be the game", and this time it's me.

    2-1 victory.
I can still visualise you climbing over that fence / gate keeping us back at The New Den.
    Not big and not clever.

This is why I lost all respect for the police long ago. They were creating a tinderbox situation here. If one fan had, for example, grabbed that camera then the police would have laid into him, other fans would have starting fighting the police and there would have been a riot in an enclosed space, threatening everyone’s safety.

If there’s fighting then the police need to intervene but instead they create a potentiel fight.

So it’s the police who you need to say ’not big and not clever’ to.

As atrocious as this record is...

The expanded Covered End is yet to witness a win - that's a stat which can be put right.

I'm upgrading my prediction, going for 2-0 and absolute scenes in the Covered End.
Looking at that, the amount of unbeaten runs we’ve had against you. 14 games in the 1920’s, 5 games in the 1930’s (which were all wins), 8 games in the 60’s and 70’s, 12 games from 1979 to 1990, 7 games in the 90’s, and obviously the current one. It’s just mad when you think about it.

It’s not even like we’ve been the dominant and bigger club. Maybe in the early days and in very recent history, but not in between.
Now that you mention it, if we take these streaky blips out of the equation, our record is very strong.
are you a professional politician ? .. that retort is a classic case of finding a (non existent) positive from a negative situation
The “we’ve had the longest time without defeat” line is the best case of that. Yes, 35 years, but just 6 games 😆

There are two ways to look at it. Our unbeaten run was six games - yours WAS 12, so you win. In terms of time, your unbeaten run was 29 years, our unbeaten run was 35 years - we win.
Dishonourable draw I would say :)

I know you’re having a laugh here, but I actually think there’s one or two posters on here who think it’s a credible argument. Not mentioning any names 😉
Right, enough of that bloody results sheet, 31-2 in seasons spent in the top flight of English football to us 😜
  • Not sure which side but have a feeling there will be a sending off. Worried NJ will have ours so hyped it boils over and not in a good way. With 11 I think we'll win, with an early red card we're toast.
  • 1995/96 season which we did the double. Worked with a Millwall supporter and he left before the first game, dam him. Needed to get back all the stick I had been given over the years
  • We're going to lose. See you all there!

Surely he must be due for release by now Ross, perhaps his parole officer can help out.

I am more excited by this one match than any match we played in our last stretch League 1. [play offs excepted]
    This one will be noisier
No way will tomorrow be a better atmosphere than the home play off semi final or Wembley final.  12:30 KO will put paid to that.
  • We'll win this 2-0. We'll start fast, they will come into it - both defences on top, not much pretty football on show,  then we bring the 'finishers' on and nick one on about 80 mins as they are in mid flow 'singing you'll never beat millwall' They launch forwards to rescue a point and we do them again on the break. The Valley rings out with 'You've never won fuck all' as they trudge out realising they ain't the playoff material they thought they were.
  • I'm trying take away the derby aspect and just focus on getting the three points (which almost defiantly won't happen!) as we've got a couple of, I won't say six pointers coming up but big games against teams around us. Yes I know we are only four games in but home form is so crucial to us staying in this division so I'd be happy with anything other than a loss
  • I'll be on away duty at Maidenhead Utd tomorrow AM so really hoping I can get back home without hearing the score so watch it on delay. It's so good to be back in a decent league where you can watch it in that way.

I can see a 1-0 win and NJ causing a riot as he celebrates in from of the spanners, dropping to his knees and thanking God for Leaburn's late, late winner :)

Different atmosphere triggers. For the play off it would have been a mix of anticipation, excitement and nerves. For the match tomorrow every single fan will automatically switch to ‘I hate those bastards’ mode at some point of getting to their seats and won’t dial back down again until they exit the stadium and start thinking about celebrating or drowning their sorrows.

Most recent games against Millwall have had pretty flat atmospheres.

Weren’t they the tail end of lockdown game, the striker that couldn’t score from an open goal game and the let’s play the young striker lad because we haven’t got anybody else game ?

Dunno, but the police would probably make us monkey bar the fricking arch as a route to get out of the area if we did ever face them there.
  • horrible game.....long walk.....totally different set of players and once again ours won't turn up as per...........shake hands on a point now

    not looking forward to it

    please prove me wrong
  • here's a fun conundrum... so if we played Millwall in a Wembley Play-Off final, who would win???
That would have happened in 2010 if we'd won the penalty shootout against Swindon. I wouldn't have fancied our chances in the final though, as we had limped to the finish line that season.
  • here's a fun conundrum... so if we played Millwall in a Wembley Play-Off final, who would win???
We wouldn't be allowed to play it at Wembley. It would have to be played at the toolbox for safety reasons.

we'd have had to all get off the tube at Finchley Road and walk
  • Milll could put out their U21s, have 2 sent off, give us a 3-0 lead going into 2nd half injury time and we would still lose. Death, taxes and the Jimmy Seed toilets being trashed come 2.30 on Saturday. Add in a long walk the wrong way round in the rain to the station and you have the perfect day out. No chance will we win, 2-0 to Millwall.

For anyone worried about Bell's fitness, Ramsay has posted some training pictures on his Instagram story and Amari'i is in the background
James Bree pictured on the clubs Instagram so maybe he’s available?
