It’s our great nephews 18th today and he’s going along with his mum and our sister (his Nan), his girlfriend and her family who are, yep you’ve guessed it, Millwall 😫😫 Sorry Tyler, hope you have a great birthday regardless 🫣🥳
London Bridge looks like the Stone Island global convention is taking place ….
That’s can’t be right - millwall fan told us they avoid London Bridge like the plague - he also told us they were miles ahead of us as a club and now thinks they might lose today coz of a couple of injuries

They?? You do know there’s a little march in London today who participants may prone to wearing a bit of stone island?
And a couple of injuries? 7 first team regulars. Just making things clear for the hard of thinking 😉😆
None of our current squad or Nathan Jones are tainted with our lamentable record against this lot, although the same can be said for many of our previous teams who have gone on to perform poorly in these games. Even when we had a demonstrably better team than Millwall, we still failed to beat them - two defeats in 68/69 and two draws in Lennie’s promotion season of 85/86.
I’ve barely seen Millwall in recent years, although they have benefitted enormously from excellent ownership with the late John Berylson and now his son. They’ve been in the Championship in 14 of the last 16 seasons and have finished in the top ten in five of the last eight seasons since they were promoted from League One. They’ve certainly punched well above their weight and I do have to respect that. Hopefully we can now consolidate in the division and move forward now at last we have some decent owners.
Let’s hope too that we can end the long wait for a win and ease our way into mid-table after a bit of a wobble.
The reason why during history we have such a bad record against Millwall, it seems to me, is that they have normally been the underdogs. Either we have come down from a higher division or were simply a higher placed club. Also, we’ve often had better purist type footballers and they’ve had rough and ready types who use the derby match pressurised context to out battle us.
I think both of these factors are currently reversed. Although my age, and as a conséquence, traumatism from history, reins me in, I am more optimistic than ever for a spanners match. Sour match with a sweet result 👌
