I was amazed when I saw Bree getting readied but not replacing Ramsay.
Apter was absolutely blown up though. He looked out of gas towards the end of the first half. I reckon Ramsay would have come off 5 minutes later if he hadn't lost his head

Bree isn't a Centre-Back, always felt he was replacing Apter, unless Jones was going to change shape, which would have been strange in itself.
That first round of subs, needed Burke on as well, if Ramsay was to come off, but again, its times like that were Jones should be able to rely on the discipline of his players.
Bree has played RCB plenty of times, in some ways he’s natural Ramsay cover

Oh has he? - I thought he was solely a Right-Back, and hadn't played anywhere else

Will be interesting to see who replaces ramsay going forward next few games, I think Burke personally, with Bree on for Apter

Yeah as you've got to wonder if Burke has the fitness for 60-70mins at the moment
Carey very good today. TC a threat all game particularly given his travels and games this week. Jones is right about Ramsay coasting. Said the same to my son when he had travelled upfield with the ball and dwelt on it - has a casualness at times he needs to rid himself of. Can’t fault much today.
Millwall fans were the quietest I can ever remember. Provided no atmosphere. Sheff U and Blackburn - at least 4 points needed.
When the dust settles, when the nerves have calmed and when the proper, distant reflection has time to develop, one thing is absolutely clear. Millwall are absolutely terrible.
One was never going to be "enough" in a game like that. Despite our dominance, it was always likely we'd fall foul of a late equaliser - or worse. Any time a team goes one-up and stays one-up, you have to expect a response. Today, it came very late on, but with enough time left still for it to get worse still.
What can we take away from the game? TC had a good game and clearly troubled their back line. He's not the finished article yet. But, ask yourself this question: would you rather have him running at opponents' defences, or playing for the opposition and running at ours? Apter grows with confidence every game. The Coventry-Docherty axis is generally good enough. Carey means business. Jones is a behemoth. Bell works his socks off. Ramsey - despite his cataclysmic, ill-conceived, poorly-timed tackle - still looks every inch a Rolls-Royce. And Edwards, of course, looks like he'd be disappointed at running out of walls to run through.
Kelman didn't touch the ball in the right places. That's not Kelman's fault. Kaminski had no save to make for 87 minutes, then pulled off a blinder, only to parry it into the path of their substitute for the goal. Leaburn was utterly ineffectual (it sorrows me to say it, because I desperately, desperately want him to succeed). Bree looks good - but a game like today's isn't the right opportunity to judge him.
But the other thing we can take from it is this: if Millwall genuinely are a mid-table side, then this Charlton team has very little to worry about.
I get that they do lots of work "off the ball" and that they win with very little possession. But it's a long time since I have seen a team look so bereft of ideas and lacking in quality when the ball eventually landed at one of their players' feet. For the most part, they looked much less dangerous when they had the ball. I am astonished to see that their "passing accuracy" statistics are better than ours. But I would like to see Opta's "over-hitting a pass and it going out of play" numbers and the xMc (Expected Miscue) data from today.
I am not happy at today's result, because they were very obviously there for the taking. But I am very, very happy indeed that I don't get to see Millwall play very often.
Can't knock that performance. Every player showed commitment and looked like they knew how much it meant. Kelman got stuck in and looked a handful, considering where Campbell has been for ten days he worried the pants off them. Some much improved performances after the QPR game and Alex Neil had to change the shape to get his side back in the game, even then they weren't great, then comes the sending off. I would have been happy with a draw before the game and I'm still happy now, there is much more to come from both sides.

On tv I hardly heard the Millwall fans … were they really that quiet?
I’m here (on a 54 bus in perpetual traffic) and yes they were that quiet. We had them on thw ropes untí Ramsey dived in. Then the scumbags woke up. And btw therr was trouble as we were trying to leave up to the Bartram exit. Some of the scumbags were allowed out up thwre and it all kicked off.
Too pissed off for now to talk more about the game
If he hadn't of put in such a rash second challenge we would have won.
We've largely dominated most of the game except for the period when we were down to 10 men. And therefore its so frustrating not to beat such a woeful Millwall team. We won't get a better chance to beat them. That said, I was more than happy to hear the final whistle as it would have been unbearable if we had lost.
One final point. I'm really not impressed by Kaminski and I've no idea why we spent (supposedly) £800k on him. Five games and he hasn't come for a single cross. If Maynard-Brewer had been in goal today and let that goal in, this board would be on fire with people moaning about him simply pushing the first shot straight out. Mannion should have been given a chance to play and the fact he is not on the subs bench makes me wonder if he has had a bust-up with Jones behind the scenes.
We've been the better side against both Leicester and today so it sucks to only come away with one point. That rashness from Ramsay cost us but at least we are proving that we are capable of mixing it at this level.
League 1players against Championship/Prem players that the reason
So frustrating to draw that. We played well and sadly I don't see Millwall being as bad as that in the return game.
Nothing much to add to what's been said already. Surprised at some of the negative comments about Leaburn who I thought was a good outlet under very difficult circumstances.

Letting their 'fans' out immediately, allowing them to avoid the old bill so they could confront our supporters is criminal. The club needs to complain that this has put home fans in danger, and this idiotic decision is not acceptable. I hope our lot are ok.
Put 4 excellent performances in now and 1 at QPR which we weren’t great but weren’t exactly awful and were in relegation from. Very concerned no matter how well we play can’t get over the line but that seems to be fine lines in the championship. Thank god Oxford and Wednesday are so bad but genuinely need to start putting these performances into wins otherwise we’re going to be the 3rd team down
Typical referee issuing cards in the 2nd half but not the first.
Leaburn disappointing- was he maybe injured?
Every point is important however so could have been worse.
Kaminski I agree with, but I thought Leaburn was excellent when he came on. Didn't give the same pressing as Kelman or TC but was incredible with the ball at his feet in tight situations.
Left via landsdowne mews just before Millwall bust the gate open. Fortunately after a bit of milling around they decided not to beat up on the 26 old men and 10 families behind me.
Zero police and insufficient stewards to get involved.
lets not go overboard on this . Ramsay fucked up but wed all pick him in our team next week. reasons to be cheerful. TC was not over awed and is developing into a player we will make serious money out of. Jones immense - Id be more worried about losing him. Ivanovic - absolutely pocketed. Defence is pretty much at home with one another. Edwards was hyped and full of adrenaline hence his passing/very heavy touch. Apter ... no change out of the left back and tbh lightweight but hes in credit Carey - nothing fantastic but completly at home at this level. Kaminiski - the goal was coming from a team perspective and hes better than his backups. not gonna say too much about midfield - we ask a lot of them but their lack of creativity is gonna make Kelman/Goddens jobs hard. disappointments - they were average (as were we) but 1st half they laid down. lastly - whats happened to our dynamic pre season money buys? (knibbs & Olaffe).
So frustrating to lose that. We played well and sadly I don't see Millwall being as bad as that in the return leg.

I'm as disappointed as you but we didn't actually lose! (although I totally agree it feels like a loss)
The worst Millwall side seen at the valley , first half we were by far the better team , second half perhaps we didn’t hit the heights of the first but could not see Millwall scoring at all …… but like last week a sending off that did not happen changed the game and a mindless 2 mins from Ramsey cost us points today ….. the only thing he was unlucky to be booked for the first foul when it was someone else who committed the foul not Ramsey so wonder if the club can apoeal that ?……. we proved again today we deserve to be in this league and really gave a decent showing again , but like Campbell at QPR mindless mins cost us at this level

Would probably get all 3 points without the sending off, that totally allowed them back in.
We are making a fist of trying to stay on the division and that is the positive part
Their Right Midfielder was very good. Skinned Ramsay all game, and ultimately got him sent off.

That's the only question that needs asking today.
