How long has "Hey Jude" been Brentford's pre-game song? I'm sure we never had it there.

My best guess at the connection is that it has 2 syllables like Brentford.
A long time I believe. Knew a Brentford fan who had the song at his funeral. That was a few years back.

Fair enough. Maybe I was still in the corner pubs the last times we kicked off there.

What we'd give for someone to even sometimes take a corner as well as Xavi Simons was tonight .

Is it just me or has Atwell let a lot of Chelsea fouls go but been really strict on Brentford?
Maybe I’m blinded by my own anti-Chelsea bias, but Chelsea seem to be getting an awful lot of 50-50 decisions here.

Had to happen. Liverpool, against 10 men, get a 93rd minute penalty.

Another disaster-class from Salah covered up by a penalty
  • Tbh they aren’t jammy - Burnley have done absolutely nothing. Nobody can say they don’t deserve to win
  • They're right... No one does like them... But they bloody well do care about it

Christ almighty. Liverpool have been incredibly lucky every game so far this season. Could easily be played 4 won 0. Fucking hate them.

They are jammy, they didn't break down Burnley all game, even against the 10 men, and it takes a brain dead handball with 90 seconds to go for them to break the deadlock

The mark of a good side is winning when they're not playing well - that's three wins against Newcastle, Arsenal and Burnley when they really haven't looked very good with Salah, in particular, looking anonymous. Isak will give them a boost but they can't carry on like that if they want to retain the title.

Well, they are. The only difference between them and us is, normal teams like Charlton thrash Leicester but can’t score and lose 1-0.
Liverpool thrash Burnley and can’t score but get a ridiculous penalty in the last minute.
  • Gutted for Burnley. But as I captained Salah in my Fantasy Team this week, will take that.

  • I’m just thinking differently around what jammy means.

Yeah Leicester were jammy at our place because we battered them and then scored with their only chance. They didn’t deserve the win.

If Burnley batter Liverpool and then have a goal disallowed, hit the post three times, and then Liverpool go and get a last min pen. Jammy.

Burnley did nothing all game and didn’t even try to win, or do anything of note. Liverpool gotta be a lot better to retain their title with Arsenal looking particularly strong.

But on balance the best side won. The best side didn’t win in our game v Leicester

Yeah, of course. All very valid points.
But I think it’s also valid to recognise that football doesn’t always give teams the results they ‘deserve’. How often do we hear managers bemoan how they’ve not won a game that they’ve dominated?
But with that in mind, I’d go so far as to say Liverpool didn’t ‘deserve’ it today. They were totally dominant, but they were utterly wasteful. Regardless of possession and territory stats, they weren’t denied goals due to repeatedly hitting the woodwork or the goalie having a worldy, they just didn’t threaten the goal enough and kept getting closed down or blocked. As much as they were the better team playing an opponent who were playing a spoiling game, they were ineffective in front of goal.
They got away with it due to a brainfart in the Burnley defence. I’d compare it to Millwall and Kayne yesterday. They were fucking lucky our defender had a brainfart. Same goes for Liverpool today.

  • England could do with a fit and firing Phil Foden ahead of the World Cup

Never really shown up for England
  • City for me alongside Chelsea in the Prem ‘2nd level’. Behind Arsenal and Liverpool quite clearly still.

  • Man Utd being average is a bit boring these days - They're just another mid-table Premier League club
