They are in a rut - SIX defeats on the bounce. Wilder will start to get them organised and can’t see them performing like they have under Selles, BUT, we have to prove we have enough about us to get a result regardless. Fear a draw as we are not prolific and the first thing Wilder will do will be to tighten them up - 0-0 possible, but hope we p*ss on their returning manager parade. UTA!

They’ve also lost some players, it’s not like Selles failed with exactly the same squad. We’ve just come off the back of our best performance of the season (for 70 minutes) against a side that’s currently better than Sheffield United. Let’s have some optimism.

I'd take a point no questions asked now.

What are your thoughts on this as a bit of banter from the terraces:

    Stoke f**d you,
    Southampton too,
    At Charlton we love you,
Take us all the way to.... the Premier League, Premier League 👏 ....

Typical bad luck that Wilder is reappointed. I hope I am wrong but their new manager “bounce” might hurt us bad this weekend.

Glad you are that optimistic. I fear we will lose because we will probably try not to.

We need to be aggressive and go for a win and that means NJ will need to change his team.

We won't beat them I don't think, I can see this being one of those away thumpings, 4-1 to them

Sequence of 6 has a statistical chance of 50% failing to make 7 (according to premier league analysis back in c2005), regardless of other considerations. Nailed on home win.

Agree with this ! Unfortunately can only see a defeat
  • I’d settle for  a one goal win rather than the 5-0 win I was expecting.

1-2 snatched in the 85th minute. We start crawling up the league, and the team learn from the last few matches.and step up a level

A certain Mr Wilder has just been re-appointed manager of Sheffield United.... who'd of guessed it
    Fuck it.
I was hoping it would be Thursday or Friday.

This gives him plenty of time to try and sort things out.
I know its only speculation but a Sheffield based Journo who on TalkSport mentioned it may not be a quick fix as all the players are in for Selles system and not Wilders.

Obviously he might still get a tune out of them but time will tell I guess!
  • The United fans seem very unimpressed with Wilder. We need to get at then and get the first goal as I could see the crowd getting disgruntled quickly, even with the "new" manager.
If we let the first in and they get their tails up it could be a long afternoon.
By all accounts United were the better team v Ipswich for the first half hour then conceded and capitulated.

I've just been given a hospitality ticket for this. Happy to sell my adult away end ticket for half price to anyone who's 50/50 about going.

I’m not sure I agree that Saturday was our best performance of the season.

Looking forward to getting back to a normal game with our away following 💪
    You going boss?
    Yes mate, you?
Yes mate, 5 of us going.
Message me later in week what pub you are heading pre-game and hopefully can join you
I'm up for this one with a Yorkshire-based Addick. We're having a pint or four around Kelman Island (about 7 mins away in a cab from the ground). Supposed to be a good area. Good to meet if you're in the vicinity.
    Its a sign!

    I'd take a pint, but we'll get 3 points.

    I’d probably put it 3rd or 4th

Leicester was probably our best performance, though Bristol City away could also be argued.

Watford and Millwall 3rd/4th and then QPR a distant 5th.

We don’t score goals, our defence isn’t as solid, our midfield non-existent and massive question marks over the goalkeeper. 4-0 to the home side.
  • That would be a comfortable home win.

It’s my 26th wedding anniversary today . 26 years ago today we won at Sheffield United . 2-0 or 2-1 and Andy Hunt scored at least one . I was calling clubcall between the ceremony and the reception!
