The usual pre-budget rumours, this time on property taxes. We are currently trying to sell a house for over £500K and buy one a bit cheaper, but still for over £500k. While rumours of a new tax persist, these houses simply aren't going to move. And Rachel will be missing out on a bundle of SDLT in the meantime.

Tbh I can't see how this can be introduced in an equitable way anyway and expect it will be filed under 'too hard' but for the moment it will gum everything up and cause plans to be put on hold.
  • Sky thinking it's a reward to allow you to enter a raffle.

A new reward just landed from Sky VIP, and we think it’ll float your boat.

From turtles and seahorses to sharks and jellyfish, you can now win four tickets to explore the ocean’s most fascinating creatures at a SEA LIFE aquarium of your choice.

So go on, head to the Sky VIP section of the My Sky app to enter now. It’s a thank you from us.

Missing the 20 second golden period to butter your toast.
I prefer the butter to be not melted. I let the toast cool down before buttering.
Yes……I know I’m in the minority.
Yeah so much better like that. Crispy toast and you can actually taste the butter.
  • I love hot toast straight from the toaster but cold toast is lovely too. Especially with peanut butter.

    But which is best?
There's only one way to find out.....
  • Dustcarts. I get it,they have to stop every few metres but why stop between parked cars blocking the entire road when there are massive gaps either side?

    I can appreciate this

What I'll say is I bet the drivers start off their workong life stopping considerately and doing that then after one cock sucker manager after another gets on at them about a metric they just think "I ain't doing this anymore"

Same with delivery drivers but I think they slip the consideration phase. Dickheads behave like they are ambulance drivers. That will be the same excise too, they will have some manager on at them but from stories told to me by people who do and have done that job its more about thinking societal norms don't apply to then

I moaned at the start of the season that on the OS, where they give what league we are in all it had was FA Cup.
Been updated now but they say we are in League 1, who updates the official site that does not know which league we are in?
They have now removed League 1, but obviously do not know how to spell Championship as they have left it blank 😀
  • No point changing now, we'll be in the Premier League next season.

The same reason that they throw the empty bins all over the place and leave rubbish strewn in the road, because this country is morally bankrupt.

Agreed. And why? Is it too make us all happy?

I watched a programme about an area in USA, where the dustmen wheeled the bins from the path to the truck then had to pick them up and empty them by hand.
Obviously have not got trucks like ours which does the emptying

I’ve recently moved to an area that uses wheely bins. This is the first time I’ve ever lived where they are used.
However we are told that as we are on a small cul de sac, everything that goes in our wheely bins has to be bagged up as the dustcart won’t enter the cul de sac.
So I put bin bags into my wheely bin. Pull it to the end of my drive, the bin man opens it, carries the bins to the van and lobs them (mostly) into it.
I then have to walk up and take the wheely bin back in.
They won’t collect bin bags if they are left outside the wheely bin.
    #amazing
  • tbf they are probably advised by the council not too, otherwise people leave their bin bags on the pavement overnight and the foxes have a party with it.
