Hey mate, the following should help.ParkinsonOut said:
I agree with the font being small - if I zoom in on my iPad I’ll have to keep moving screen left/right to be able to read each line. Hope this is something you will fix, for those of us with old eyes 👀Boom said:PWR most of this but if not mentioned font v light and small for my old codger eyes.Oh and the golfie block option seems to have disappeared (as does the lincoln city appreciation like tick). Apart from that all good
On the iPad, click on the icon to the left of the URL bar. (It's in the URL bar, to the left of where you'll see forum.charltonlife.com) It's in the form of a rounded rectangle with two lines underneath. You'll get a menu and you'll see a Zoom option. You can make all the text as large as you need.2 -
Computer/laptop at work, mobile at homeAFKABartram said:I’ve not had access to the site by anything other than phone for about five years so it’s been a bit of an eye opener the amount that still used desktop view via home pc’s, laptops and iPads.
the mobile view is infinitely better than the desktop view though0 -
Any joy with resolving for iPhone users and the zoom destroying the menu / title bar etc?0

The tweak to a darker type in the comments is big improvement.
I think there is room for some Red in the banner header and the club logo sword2 -
Probably the most satisfying bit is on a mobile you press that plus sign button on the screen and it does a twirl and goes to an X and then you can press it again and in twirls back to a plus.0

Something that I have just worked out today you have to click on your profile page to know if you have a new message now0

Comments on the banner have been noted and will be worked on. It won’t happen immediately, but will be on the radar for the coming weeksTootingRedArmy said:The tweak to a darker type in the comments is big improvement.

For me, the mobile view was handy when out and about, but the desktop was far superior, simply because it had the space. I think the improved mobile view, is a real step change though.MrOneLung said:

The previously pointless 'Who's Online' feature is made even more pointless by not being in alphabetical order....3

Taking a lot of getting used to. Preferred the old one.1

Great that the comments are now much more readable.
Is there any chance of reverting to the way it was when returning to a thread you had started but not finished, the system took you to the last read comment whereas now you are taken to the most recent comment, meaning that loads remain unread unless you remember where you left off.
Thanks to everyone involved in this.3 -
@BrentfordAddick that's a pre-existing bug I think. We need to work out what's causing it first.0

Apologies, I haven’t read much of that thread. On my iPhone, I only now see 10 threads per page and they all seem to have a comment visable rather than just the thread title, is it possible to see more than 10
threads on a single page and without the comment ?0 -
@Ducktapeshoerepairs That's what you see if you use https://forum.charltonlife.com/discussions (or https://charltonlife.vanillacommunity.com/discussions if that's the version of the site you prefer). If you click on the Charlton Life logo, it'll take you to https://forum.charltonlife.com/ (or https://charltonlife.vanillacommunity.com) and that's the version you're more familiar with.Ducktapeshoerepairs said:Apologies, I haven’t read much of that thread. You can also do that from My comments.BrentfordAddick said:Great that the comments are now much more readable.

Any chance the mobile + symbol can be a static feature on the home page?
very annoying having it constantly on the screen getting in the way when trying to comment or read threads. I don’t need the + symbol when trying to do either.2 -
Not a fan of the light grey text on a white background. Feels very washed out.
Would also love the 'other' bar back on the left hand side, not right.
I'd like to see the posters name a bit larger also. It's hurting my eyes.3 -
I now can't use it on the desktop with the menu on the right instead of left, will be using mobile going forward.Bolderhumphreyreid said:Not a fan of the light grey text on a white background. Feels very washed out.

After using the new format for a while, I'm a fan. Far easier to use and read on mobile. I don't really use pc or laptop these days1

Personally, I'd say it's a great job. It looks superb. Although, I can see why some people might still be struggling with the font size...

It looks way nicer on phones now.
On my PC it's less of an improvement as it doesn't use the space very well.
But that's the difficulty of trying to optimise both phones (portrait mode) and PCs (widescreen landscape mode)0 -
I like pressing the plus symbol as it does that twirl thing which brings me far too much enjoyment than it should but yeah it should just stay on the homepage as it's annoying having it there especially when typing.MartinCAFC said:Any chance the mobile + symbol can be a static feature on the home page?

How do I get rid of that effing great plus sign that infests every single page? Please.1

Who decided to put the number of posts you have made on here next to your user name each time you make a post? Bloody hell killer and flash… you have a serious number.
Im now going to be looking at every single prominent poster on here’s numbers.Might make a post on this with a table… Or can one of you lovely clever posters do it!3 -
Not a massive issue but I’m having threads appear greyed out as if I’m up to date on them despite the fact I’ve never actually opened them1
-
The text is the 100% blackest black from blackville on a white as the driven snow background. Flush your browser cache if you’re seeing grey on white.Bolderhumphreyreid said:Not a fan of the light grey text on a white background. Feels very washed out.

The only shame is the like/lol is so small and you can't really see the numbers just scanning over a post quickly. Everything else I think I can get used to. I liked the old-school facebooky pre-shit-internet feel of the old design but time marches on!1
