The thing with macca is that he is slow at the championship level but he is so good in the air both defensively and at set pieces that as long as we don’t have him too isolated one on one, he is definitely a net positive1

I've been thinking that Gillesphey is like a sort of Naby Sarr with a trifle less romance but a trifle less chaos as well. He still hasn't scored from open play mind, those goal against Hull and QPR and assist vs Forest still giving Naby the slight edge. Try more insane stuff Macca8

I think Naby may have been technically better, but positionally worse. Definitely far more prone to a brain fart.Veterans of the match thread will be aware that I've not been Gillesphey's biggest fan, but I think he's definitely benefited from having Bell outside and Jones inside him (stay away from the Kenneth Williams gif!) so he can concentrate on his own job, rather than having to cover wide so much as well. It was much less of an issue with Edwards than Small anyway, but I really like the way the defence is working as a unit at the mo, even despite the number of chances Ipswich had on Tuesday.3 -
Im pretty convinced that the bloke has found his home and will step up, whatever division we’re in. Same for jones.0

Think Macca is a perfect example of how good players can become if coached properly. Thank god Thomas was out of contract because based on game time and his play style I think Jones would have actually preferred Thomas over Macca if the contract situations didn’t favour Macca0

A good centre half who scores the amount of goals he does is worth his weight in gold.2

Reminds me more of Miguel llera who could take a free kick, was great in the air and loved his long range passes. The difference is llera was pony at everything else.Garrymanilow said:

Like Bauer will be fondly remembered for Wembley heroics but we can no longer be sentimental. His performances last season overall showed we had to get better in. Wishing Macca the best for his future career.2

Did well in his part of gaining promotion whilst with us but in my opinion he’s not good enough for the Championship as Plymouth Argyle found out as well
However he’s a Solid League One player with a couple of promotions on his CV, and Bradford will be hoping he makes it a hat trick

All the best up @ Bradford, and am hopeful you'll receive a positive reception if you return to playing Championship Football in the next year or so.A bit like Danny Hollands from the title winning season, a player I'd be happy seeing stick around purely based on sentimentality, but sadly best for all parties if he moves on, because we cant really afford to do that if we dont want to go backwards ourselves.6

Thank you, Macca.Some really memorable moments. Of course, he isn't a quite a Championship-level defender, but I do think some fans overlook his two goals in 3-0 wins against Blackburn and Ipswich. A nice six points from those games.4

Struggled at time this season but more than played his part in League One. Scorer of a legendary Charlton goal.
