Oh FFS.0
-
We've recovered from 1-3 but our only hope now is an abandoned game. Where's @Fanny Fanackapan when you need her????1
-
25 overs in and we're 119-4, SA were 199-2. They of course had the dramatic accelaration from Wolvaardt but England have recovered well0
-
Kapp's fifth wicket was her 44th career world cup wicket, which is apparently a record for the women's game.
I guess at least we won't get tonked by the Aussies in the final now.0 -
That's the thing - the Aussies are winning this, so I can't be too gutted we've just lost in the semi final rather than the final.Swindon_Addick said:Kapp's fifth wicket was her 44th career world cup wicket, which is apparently a record for the women's game.

Lost by 125 runs. Amazed we got that close to be honest. Time for a proper clearout of this team and to nurture some left handed batters2
-
Seems Kapp has come good at last. She’s had a very mediocre summer by her standards.
We seriously need a clear out. Too many being picked by name and not performance.2 -
If the top 4 or so don't produce the runs, England never seem to get a big total. Look at how AUS and SA have batters down the order who can get hundreds.KBslittlesis said:Seems Kapp has come good at last. She’s had a very mediocre summer by her standards.

0 runs from the top 3 today was appalling2 -

Pretty busy at present & didn't even know we had a game today ...
Probably for the best.1 -

I think we deserve to see the England men's ODI team play the women. Would be all over inside a few hours & we can all then get on the golf course.1
-
Well the good news for India is that Phoebe Litchfield has got herself out playing a daft ramp shot to a ball that was hitting the stumps. The less good news is she made 119 off 93 and the Aussies weren't far short of 200 at 30 overs, never mind 50.0

And have time to watch a re run of a hundred gamegolfaddick said:I think we deserve to see the England men's ODI team play the women. Would be all over inside a few hours & we can all then get on the golf course.0 -
India need 339 after a decent fightback by India pulled it back from what was looking like over 350.
Disappointingly, there's no combination of circumstances that will lead to both teams losing.1 -
This has been the best game of the competition.
A Great game whoever you want to win2 -
A fantastic chase though two drop catches and a bit of a dodgy "bounce" on an LBW that was reviewed didn't help the Aussies' cause.
Now to the final - come on South Africa!!!!1 -
cant put it past India - fantastic chase !0

Healy dropped the world cup0
-
She's been poor with the gloves throughout. It's all very well taking legside balls that might go for four but she has dropped catches and missed stumpings throughout.MrOneLung said:Healy dropped the world cup1 -
That drop by the keeper is genuinely pathetic , unbelievable0

No Toblerone at MCG?0
-
There was a school of thought that they should be banned because of the possibility of a player injuring their ankle but they are present - just not behind the bowlers arm as this is where the machinery to dry the pitch has to come from.Zulu said:No Toblerone at MCG?1 -

3rd ODI against NZ.
England put into bat AGAIN. England lose 2 quick wickets AGAIN. 15/2 after 3.1 overs.
No.Make that 17/3.
Please make it stop.0 -
Now 31/4.
How many of this rabble are in the Test side ? 3 weeks until the Ashes kick-off and our batsman make the local Sunday team look good.1 -
222 all out in 40.2 (double Nelson finishes us off) a recovery from 102/7
Overton top scoring with 68(62)
NZ 15/0 off 3 overs in reply0 -
Top four scored 84 runs between them.In the whole series2
-
A terrible series. Jamie Overton (who's retired from Test cricket) being the top scorer rubs it in.0
-
First time in 42 years that we've lost all matches in an ODI against NZ.
Since the first game was played in The Hundred, England's record ODI in W23-L33 (41%).
We are currently ranked 8th in the world. If we were to only include our record against the top seven teams then that reads W10-L28 (26%).
In the five years prior to The Hundred, our record was W56-L21 (73%).
Full record (W-L)
Afghanistan (0-2)
Australia (2-8)
Bangladesh (3-1)
India (1-6)
Ireland (1-0)
Netherlands (4-0)
New Zealand (3-5)
Pakistan (1-0)
South Africa (3-6)
Sri Lanka (0-1)
West Indies (5-4)

Is this a cunning plan to lure the Aussies into a false sense of security a la 1986/87?
’can’t bat, can’t bowl, can’t field…’1
