Good effort, 244 - I personally don't think it'll be enough but it's competitive.0

Aussies 24-30

68-4!
Litchfield, Voll Perry and Mooney all gone1 -
Needed that wicket as Australia were just starting to get on top of the bowling.1

England Women need Nathan Jones in charge.0

Australia are just head and shoulders above everyone else.3

England's semi-final will be against the loser of the Australia v South Africa game. The winner of that game plays India or New Zealand. England's final group game against NZ can't affect which semi we play in, but could end up deciding if NZ knock India out (if NZ beat India tomorrow).
Given that we need to try something different if we're looking to win this thing rather than just reach the semis, and some of the commentators have been saying we're picking the wrong players in the wrong positions, we may end up having the opportunity to experiment against NZ. With the added bonus that if it goes wrong it might dump India out of their own competition.3 -
Our top four bats (when Healy doesn't play) and our bowling are comparable, but where we have Dunkley and Lamb, they have Sutherland and Gardner, which is genuinely a terrifying comparisonNorth Lower Neil said:Australia are just head and shoulders above everyone else.2 -

The 3rd T20 in NZ effectively rained off with just 3.4 overs bowled. Daft to play international cricket there in October, which would be like us playing home games in April.
Which makes the England management treating this white ball series as part of the Ashes warm up even more crazy.4 -
Convincing series victory though, didn’t lose a game 😉killerandflash said:The 3rd T20 in NZ effectively rained off with just 3.4 overs bowled. Daft to play international cricket there in October, which would be like us playing home games in April.

India have confirmed fourth place, so assuming the Wikipedia page is right they play the winner of Saturday's Aus-SA match next Wednesday, while we play the loser on Thursday. The final's a week Sunday if we're still interested by then.
Not sure what to make of our chances. We've looked pretty fragile, but the one game where it really all came together was against SA, who are quite likely to be our semi-final opponents. I think you have to see Australia as huge favourites for the overall win, but the other 3 semi-finalists look fairly even, all with the potential to completely hammer either of the others on their day.2 -
We've become wholly reliant on one of Knight and Sciver-Brunt coming off in a big way with the bat (the rest of the squad have made two 50s between them), Smith to suffocate with the ball at the start and Ecclestone to come off too. If any two of those don't perform on the day then we are going to struggle against anyone - and we are capable of none of those doing so as seen in the game that was abandoned against Pakistan.Swindon_Addick said:India have confirmed fourth place, so assuming the Wikipedia page is right they play the winner of Saturday's Aus-SA match next Wednesday, while we play the loser on Thursday. If Dunkley and Lamb aren't dropped for Wyatt-Hodge and Glenn next game the management need their head checkingAddick Addict said:

There was a comment on the BBC during the Australia game along the lines of Lamb being an opener who had never played at 6 before this tournament, which suggests something's badly wrong with the strategy.Leuth said:

Alana King is proving herself to be rather a good bowler. Her current figures again South Africa are 4-0
In her previous two matches she recorded 2-18 off 10 overs and 1-20 off 10 overs.0 -
Jafta came out fighting and hit King for three boundaries but was then bowled herself. King now has 5-12 off 21 balls0
-
King bowls another one for 6-15 off 5 overs
SA have gone from 32-0 off 6.3 overs to 88-8 off 20 overs0 -
If I were a leggie bowling to two right handers and with half a dozen wickets already under the belt, I would be screaming for at least one slip but King has none.1

SA 97 all out from 32-02 -
Unreal performance. Genuinely Warnesque0

Wikipedia was wrong - the semi-final dates are the other way around, 1st v 4th on Thursday while 2nd v 3rd is Wednesday. I had a vague feeling I remembered that if India qualified then they would play in Mumbai whatever the positions, but couldn't see that confirmed anywhere. Does make sense in terms of maximising ticket sales.Swindon_Addick said:India have confirmed fourth place, so assuming the Wikipedia page is right they play the winner of Saturday's Aus-SA match next Wednesday, while we play the loser on Thursday. Struggling with sleep is annoying, but getting to watch this Brook innings is fun0

England lose by 4 wickets.
England 223 all out which is a very decent score for a T20. Except it was an ODI and we left 14.4 overs out there. That total was wholly thanks to a remarkable 135 (101) from Brook and also 46 (54) from Overton with the third top score being 6 !!! We did have our highest 10th wicket ODI partnership of 57 between Brook and Wood who made 5 of those off 4 balls.
NZ were struggling at 66-4 but eventually got home with 13.2 overs to spare.0 -
Bloody confusing waking up to notifications from both England v NZ games0

The more I am hearing about the TNT coverage of the Ashes, the more I am fearful.Commentary will be provided by Alastair Eykyn and Rob Hatch. Neither of these two have ever commentated on cricket. One usually covers rugby and the other cycling. TNT ruled out the prospect of using the world feed commentary soon after securing the rights and have said that their coverage should appeal to more general sports fans: Their spokesman said
"The Ashes is a step above that. TNT Sports is a step above that… Nothing against the world feed, which will be a great production. But we needed to talk about what the Ashes meant to our audience, to TNT Sports."Any suggestion that this has anything to do with TNT not wanting to pay for the live feed is, of course, complete and utter rubbish.4 -
Meanwhile the Women look like heading to the semis with a win. They bowled NZ out for 168 and are currently 21-0 in reply.0
