For those wondering why Doc took it, if he'd hit it like he did in preseason at 1:16 I don't think we would have had too many worries. Just a bad pen today

For a big man not much sticks with Leaburn. Surprised Carey didn't have the pen, he can hit a ball. Ramsay is a shadow of the player who started the season and him and Bree are not on the same wavelength. Second half has to be 100% better.

Well, that was a dull half of football. Hernandez looks decent though

I’ve had to watch 45 minutes of dross and a Greg Docherty penalty.

I preferred the Crawley drubbing last year.
Ah come on mate, that's just LOL farming. Don't make me go back and find your quotes from the post match of that one.

Literally nobody around me expected Doc to score that. So when he missed it was almost a resigned oh well and everyone just sat down again.

    Would have thought Bree personally

Where has our high press gone? Seems to have disappeared the last 2 or 3 games.

Surprised how negative people are being. We're pretty low on energy granted but we're also pretty untroubled so far. We should be one up but we've had plenty of games where we've been far better and still gone in 0-0 at halftime. The key thing is to get to the last 10 without going behind and then we can do our traditional late show
Thought the same. WBA are letting us have a lot of possession, something we’re not used to and that isn’t our strength. We’ve played a lot of games recently and have a few injuries so aren’t playing at the intensity we do at our best - but it was probably unrealistic to expect that every game all season long.

Jones will let them know where we need to be better, and if we don’t see it we have options on the bench to change things.

Oh come on, that barge on Docherty was worse than anything that Leaburn has been penalised for
Ref hasnt been great. At the game, its very poor from both sides, for how shit we've been, west brom havent done anything to really trouble us.
They haven’t tested Kaminski, but they’ve had 3 or 4 decent chances to score.

Our passing got better but for the first twenty it was slow, poor and not finding it's man. Hernandez has been very good but both he and Bree haven't got forward. As for Miles, trying hard but with little support. Penalty was shit by the way, just at the height a keeper wants it.

Well that was 45 mins I'll never get back.

Fucking boring football, handed a golden chance on a platter and Docherty takes the most nondescript penalty you've ever seen and the keeper makes the most average save in history

Nice re-run of the Arsenal 2-4 win from 2001, that's better , I remember the coms reaction to Brownie's header "Oh they've scored"...😉

For all the talk about the missed penalty, and how a Striker should have taken it (I agree it should have been Miles), but the way it was at a nice height for Griffiths to save, reminded me of the one that Schwartz had saved in the last minute at Oxford.

Lets equally not pretend that Strikers don't miss penalties either.

    Another poor half from Leaburn.

His only good performance (for me) this season so far was in the 3-0 victory over Ipswich.

Well that was 45 minutes of total dross. How we are level is down to them being nearly as bad as us. NJ needs to give them a rocket at halftime. Less said about that penalty the better ! On a plus note we are still 0-0 so the 3 points are still there but things need a proper shake up. Tanto on for TC and Knibbs on for Doc

Very poor first half. With the exception of the penalty we have offered nothing as an attacking force. NJ has to shake things up or the most we will get us a 0-0.

Bree has 4 goals in 267 league games for everyone clamouring for him to take it. Completely off it first half. Jones to sort them out in the break

Shocking from us……giving the ball away time after time!

Awful first half, only goalless due to West Brom's ineptitude in the final third and none of our players seemingly having big enough plums to take the penalty.

I would have had Carey, Macca, Leaburn, Jones or Bree ahead of Dochers for taking the pen. Blimey, probably Kaminski too.

The defence, midfield and attack have not joined up well tonight, any "flowing" move being the exception.

You'd like to think that the good Reverend is currently giving a sermon to end all sermons and Charlton will come out playing better in the second half.

This is the issue. West Brom are happy to let us have the ball and they're dropping into a low block and looking to hit us on the counter. We're not used to that, and possession and patient build up are not our strengths. It's been a good tactic by WBA so far, and they've had a couple of good counters. Time for Jones to adjust things at halftime.

Live table says we're 8th in the Championship.

We cannot just outwork teams every week, we actually need a plan with the ball. Ipswich was an anomaly cos the left us 2v2. These ain’t great but someone to grab the game by the neck in midfield would sway it. We ain’t got that.

Chasing shadows for a lot of that. Defended well, but very little threat. Need someone or something to give us a bit of spark.

Disagree personally. Played fine, had one shot. Statbank had him 8th in the ratings also.

Awful half, yet we could have been ahead. A complete lack of attacking ideas, and Hernandez on the left has no left foot, so we have no width on that side.

His radar hasn't always been correct, but at least Coventry is someone who can control the ball and try to make a progressive forward pass, instead of passing backwards or hoofing it.
