Went to Port Lympne animal reserve today for the first time. Sun come out as soon as we got there, got to see the amazing conservation work they do and then had a banging roast dinner in their restaurant.2

Losing two stone since the start of August, feeling fitter, healthier and happier than I have done in years.
The good days far outweighing the dark days where even the ultimate option was front and centre in my mind, despite all the positives I have in my life.
Putting myself first had to be my priority and that appears to have upset one or two people, I couldn’t help others if I’m broken myself and that offends I’m sorry. For the time being I’ve distanced myself from the club as getting well again has to come first and although I follow via the television I doubt I’ll be back for some time yet to watch live, financially this years season ticket money was spent on travelling to Redmidlands home before he past away although Ive no doubt it would have been wasted anyhow by not attending, I’ll start saving again for next year and see how it goes.

@CharltonKerry just make sure you get the travel insurance as soon as you book, so you're protected in case you're not able to go due to unforeseen circumstances.@T_C_E do you think you can post that on the "How are you?" thread too? I'm sure the posters on there would be glad to hear it.0

Thank you, however it’s in place as we have traveled for the last 20 odd years we have a rolling comprehensive travel insurance policy. The importance of insurance was brought home about 3c years ago when some friends we were with on a very long cruise, one had an episode on board where he was rushed to the ships hospital, anyway he recovered and he was happy that he had a comprehensive medical insurance, unfortunately he hadn’t read the very small print you were only covered for 60 days unless you took extra cover, think that error cost him over £10,000. On that cruise it only cost us around £300 for us to get that extra cover, however as you get older the extension gets more expensive, on this cruise it’s around £500 for the pair of us. Unfortunately what we can’t get fully covered is the cost of the cancelling the cruise after final payment, but only part of the cost so we have to take the remainder of that risk. If I tell you (I believe you work in the travel industry) we travel with Regent I sure you will understand why we take that financial risk if we want to cruise.aliwibble said:@CharltonKerry just make sure you get the travel insurance as soon as you book, so you're protected in case you're not able to go due to unforeseen circumstances.@T_C_E do you think you can post that on the "How are you?" thread too? I’ve deliberately not updated on that thread because at my lowest I didn’t want hear when folk were on the up and I wasn’t, so for fear of dragging others the same way I stayed away from posting on there.aliwibble said:@CharltonKerry just make sure you get the travel insurance as soon as you book, so you're protected in case you're not able to go due to unforeseen circumstances.@T_C_E do you think you can post that on the "How are you?" thread too? Your postman noticing some post from the club, rings your doorbell, shows off a Christmas Charlton jumper and gives it a big smiley ‘Up the Addicks’5

I love it there mate, did a stay over this summer in one of the lodges and it was fantastic. Went for an early morning run the next day and it was without doubt the most amazing and surreal runs I’ve ever had. Thoroughly recommend for A special occasionValleyGary said:Went to Port Lympne animal reserve today for the first time. Meeting three other addicks I've never seen before on their way to the valley at my nearest station (in Berkshire) on Saturday morning. And two of them didn't know the other one.1

CharltonKerry said:Finally agreeing with the wife what we are treating ourselves to for our 50th wedding anniversary which is in June 2028 a week in Sydney, then a cruise from Sydney to Capetown followed by a 4 day Safari. My wife has never mentioned anything she’s want to do for holidays etc, and out the blue she suggested this. Well being married to me for 50 years she bloody well deserves to get her wish and be totally spoilt for over 10 weeks.Yes, we know it’s a long way in advance and with luck we will make it, but if it’s not booked within the next couple of months then it will be sold out, and it has the added pleasure of denying Rachel from accounts some inheritance tax money (oh and our kids as well).

We are flying emirates first class to Auckland on January first, be our second first class flight to Auckland, must admit we really enjoyed the first one. The one for our fiftieth anniversary has still to be decided but hoping we can get a good deal again with Emirates to Sydney but 2028 is a long way off and it will need our investments to continue doing well so might have to be business class. To be fair for our January flight Emirates was by far the cheapest which surprised me considering the extras.usetobunkin said:Did exactly that @ CharltonKerry.
