Think Bree's delivery will be crucial today, Pompey have struggled from set pieces this season

Thanks... You've cursed us... Referee wont give us a single set piece now ;)

Anderson is exactly the player we need without the defenders we rely on, someone who can do the off the ball harrying effectively and quickly help the team break with pace
Another case of a player becoming the answer just by being out of the team.

Anderson will work hard but he will also give the ball away numerous times, his first touch and awareness has always been his Achilles heel.
The same issues as Doc then!?  Hopefully against slightly lesser opposition in midfield today this will work in our favour? Good choice for this match at least......

I don’t think Anderson is the answer but he’s a far better presser and more mobile than Docherty.

Now parked in Charlton having left home at 7am.

It's a bit different to last week's match and the last home game (oh, and the midweek effort) - on those occasions I was struggling with 30+°C temperatures and fairly free-flowing rum and piña coladas; now it's considerably colder, wetter (although it did stop about halfway down) and grimmer.

I suppose we'd better wander down to the ground soon, wouldn't want to miss all the (alcohol-free) excitement ...
I hope that you're sweating buckets today mate... If we win, then someone needs to glue you permanently to your seat at the Valley, to ensure that you can never be away again!!

P.S. Hope that you had a good Cruise though
It was a lovely cruise, thanks. The missus enjoyed it because it was the first holiday in years I hadn't taken a Charlton top of any description and so didn't get accosted by another Addick!

There's no way I'm being afixed permanently to my seat at The Valley, as it is I'm wondering when is going to be the best time to jack it in because of the driving and parking!

Happy if its 4-4-3........not so if its 3-5-2 or 5-3-2. The latter 2 are more square pegs in round holes. The fact we have 2 players on the bench that can play LB or LWB tells me Nathan has no trust in the starting 11.

I hope its 443 & we are more attacking. This is a must win game.
An IFA should know your line up adds up to 11... ;-)

His 443 is a team without a goalie.

    😉

    Ooops.....🤭.

    Watching the cricket too much.

433 still does it for me. Or 443 with a rush goalie....😀

    Really?!

It's not as if we made it to knockout stages every year to be involved in a draw!

Confused why Karoy is starting this game,  and not one of the previous ones, but better late than never. With a game on Tuesday,  we need to keep the energy levels in midfield up.

Are you forgetting our loan interest ;)

Kanu Vs Taylor and Mbick Vs Asiimwe, so at least 2 Addicks will be in the quarters.

I have no problem with starting Campbell if we are playing a 433 he is a decent winger, issue for me is when he starts as one of the two up top he has no idea how to play that role properly.
    Bang on.

If it's true that Hernandez isn't getting another contract, why is he getting picked over Apter? Not like he's done anything positive of note.
Perhaps he is getting a contract

To be fair, the FL Trophy was normally the only cup competition where we had more than one match in the season ...

Quite a good Interview with Jim Rodwell on CharltonTV at the moment

Only half paying attention though, as had to put up with a Corporate Meeting at work yesterday, where the Managers had a lovely circle jerk, so my brain is numb to management jargon at the moment.

Steve Avory is going to replace Tom Pell as Interim Academy Manager

Hopefully going to have a permanent replacement in the Spring

Campbell starts again, starting to wonder what photos he has of Jones
No photos, Rev Jones used a permanent marker pen for the opening team sheet of the season and TC was the first name he'd writ down before switching to a pencil for everyone else.

TC's been in the side since because they can't rub his name out.

Pompey fans were singing 'Charlton's a shit hole' on the way in. Having spent a lot of time in Fratton, I hope they can see the irony.

Can’t watch for at least the first half today, hoping that means I’ll miss a load of goals

I’m abroad and want to stream but just realised it’s on sky and not therefore CaFCTV.

    Anyone got any suggestions?

We've got a minute's silence/applause to do, so that's why they were early I assume.
