I still can’t get my head around it.

    He’s 17.

Sporting history has been made. I’m struggling to think of a time like this when someone so young has achieved in such a way where they have helped to lift the popularity of their sport so much.
Bit of a double edged sword this though. When he's winning his 10th,11th,12th....... on the spin, interest in the sport will dwindle and he will become unpopular in many quarters.
No fault of his. As Wayne Mardle often says, he's just a phenom.

Imo,The only person that can beat him is himself if that makes sense. He's young and hasn't experienced much of the trials and tribulations that adult life brings to anyone.
I don't think he'll get anywhere near 10 titles, but i do agree the crowds will turn on him.

Another couple of years of him winning a lot and people will get bored. There will be people saying they hate him, he's arrogant etc, and willing him to lose to an underdog.
Phil Taylor was loved, admired and supported throughout his career so, hopefully, the same will happen to Luke if he sustains this level through the years.

Personally, I can't wait until he turns 18.....
Taylor was often booed by large sections of the crowd during his walk ons. Definitely wasn't adored by all.
  • Starts again tomorrow, can't wait.

Hopefully Ricky Evans will have a deep enough run.

Littler World Number 1 and odds on Fav to win the championship which he starts in this evening. In my opinion his toughest test to reach the final would be a possible Quarter Final tie with Gerwyn Price.

In the bottom half of the draw Luke Humphries (Seeded 2) will have to play some tough matches if he wants to reach the final. Possibly Wessel Nijman in Round 3, Nathan Aspinall in the last 16, Gian Van Veen in the quarters and Van Gerwen or Josh Rock in the semis.

Highlight of the First Round ties is Beau Greaves v Darryl Gurney on Friday week (19th)

can't see anyone stopping Littler assuming he navigates the early rounds and gets into the longer best of 7/9 set format
  • Can't wait. Got tickets for Dec 22nd afternoon session, but don't find out who it is until first round is done for once!

Field looks absolutely huge, 128 players. Was 64 just a few years ago and 32 in the 2000s
