    • Birmingham are looking to register consecutive league wins over Charlton for the first time since February 1980.
    • The home team won both league meetings between Birmingham and Charlton last season, as many as there’d been in the previous 11 games in this fixture (W2 D5 L4).
    • Birmingham City have lost just one of their last 34 home league games (W27 D6) and have won their last four in a row since the 3-2 defeat to Hull in October.
    • Charlton have lost their last three away league games, last having a longer away losing streak in February/March 2022 in League One (four).
    • Birmingham have won 17 home league games in 2025 so far – a win in this game would equal their most wins at home in a calendar year, winning 18 games in the year 2000.

Not sure if my brain is being slow, but if they won both matches last season surely they have already beaten us in consecutive league matches?
It doesn't say that. It says the home team won both games last season.
Ahhhh….I see. Sorry, think I need 5pm and the weekend to get here!

A game when you would have looked at it a few weeks ago you would have said tomorrow would be a good point away from however with us failing down the table at an alarming rate, this now needs us to take something from it.

Staying unbeaten breeds confidence but not picking up a point in the last few drains your belief as an individual, so tomorrow could be the most turgid game of football you have ever seen, but if that means taking something back to London, it would be feel so good and then onto to the 3 next games before 2026 kicks in.

If we play and defend like we did in the first half on Tuesday then we'll have our arse handed to us on a plate.

If we play like we did in Tuesday's second half (not that I was able to watch too much of it, thanks to Sky) then we stand a chance of a 0-0.

In my most optimistic, rum-infused state I can't see us winning tomorrow but, if we're lucky, we might be able to snatch a point ... but expecting six-in-a-row :(

Will Roussillon get some minutes in this one?

Who’s going to get a straight red so that they can have  Christmas off?

Depending on what they get sent off for it might only be a one-game suspension (Oxford) so they'd still be available for Boxing Day (Norwich).

It'll have to be a filthy challenge or a bit of a stramash to warrant a three-game ban and Chrimble off.

(Unless it's Rambo in which case any red card will be a minimum two-match rest given he's already had a sending-off this season.)

i'd go with the line up FA suggests but swop the position of campbell and fullah - we need to get back to the winning 'formula' as much as we can and go into matches confident we know what we're doing so the other team have to beat us and not helped by us beating ourselves with confusion and people played out of position.

Fullah looks o have the talent, pace and attitude to step in and solve the LWB problem - albeit temporarily - no brainer for me -  give the kid a crack at it, i bet he won't disappoint.

Could easily see why anyone would want to swerve this one, I would be tempted but it will end my 100% streak this season.

I don't think we have a hope in hell tbh, just try to keep the score low, and try to enjoy the day outside the football.

    3-0 Birmingham City

Keep going mate. You enjoy an away day and Birmingham is a good one. We didn't have a lot of chance the last time we won there but it ended up being a nail-biting win. Have a few post-match beers in the City centre to unwind and get a train home as late as possible!

    Plus....we enjoy your videos!

I think I’d maybe have Anderson in the middle, possibly in place of Docherty in FA’s lineup. Picking Fullah slightly concerns me, not because I don’t believe he has the talent but more because I don’t really believe in throwing kids into poorly performing teams.

I liked the changes that were made on Tuesday by bringing on Anderson, Docherty and Fullah. This gave us a lot more energy in midfield and helped to relieve the pressure on our backline. I’d like NJ to persevere along those lines especially at the moment as our defence is struggling.

I think it’s really important for us to shore up our  more defensive options so we can keep it tight and keep us competitive for the whole game. We’ve not had that since Wrexham. We did have glimpses of that in the 2nd half on Tuesday though.

With a full fit team we would win this … we are a better team than Birmingham but unfortunately we could be missing up to 7 first teamers and no club can cope with that … .. Again a point would be massive … but even with injuries team selection is questionable..

like to see 451 and try and stay in the game a lot longer then we have been

    Kamiski
    Bree
    Jones
    Gilly
    Ramsey

    Apter
    Coventry
    Doc
    Carey
    Fullah

So all is not lost then...😉
  • Last season was unpleasant up there and the 1-0.defeat was not as close as Jones has suggested. Expect another defeat and no doubt rat face Stansfield will celebrate in front of our fans again. 3-0 to Birmingham, 6 in a row.

Our energy confidence and aggression levels have really dropped, get them close to how they were for a start and see where it takes us. The players need to give the fans a lift now.

Don't panic Captain Mainwairing we're not doomed (yet)!
Another performance like the 2nd half on Tuesday and we could salvage a point?
1-1. Late equaliser by Carey......(hope springs eternal)

If there’s one thing absolutely guaranteed about Charlton playing Birmingham, it’s this: nothing is guaranteed at all.

The only certainty is that Nathan will be pacing the training ground like a man possessed biting his nails to the bone, rolling out the prayer mat, and surviving on little sleep necking red bull while trying to solve the eternal puzzle: what formation on Earth is going to beat the Peaky Blinders?

Isn’t it great being a fan, though? We turn up convinced we’ve cracked it ourselves,  team sheets scribbled on the back of envelopes, standing in the pub like we’ve all got UEFA coaching badges.... Fantasy Football Managers of the Covered End? Its what great about being a supporter, we think we know best !

Truth is, I’ve got no idea what our best team is. No clue where we’ll be by 5pm. My glass is nearly always half full… I’d just settle for breaking up the solid wall of red blocks on the Championship table on BBC Sports site with the odd grey block or, dare we dream, a glorious green one.......Let’s see what happens.

    COYA’s!

I think we have to stack the midfield with grafters - basically Doc and Anderson shielding the back three of Ramsay Jones and Macca.

That will give us enough defensive solidity to counter attack them with Apter, Carey, Fullah, TC and Leaburn.

Means that Con Cov, Knibbs, Berry and Bree drop to the bench from the midweek line up.

I'd be tempted to start Anderson is a more advanced position, where he quite successful featured last season, as a pressing midfielder, rather than one there for goals, i.e.

                  Kaminski
    Bree Ramsay Jones Gillesphey TC
              Coventry Docherty
                    Anderson
                     Leaburn

Also in that position, his tendency to get caught on the ball will be less of an issue. Keeping it tight tomorrow is crucial. Let them have possession, park the bus and stop them scoring.

Is how I think we'll line up. Maybe Anderson instead of Doc although I thought Doc plugged the gap a bit on Tuesday.

It's going to be another tough one. I feel for the traveling supporters, but it's one where you just hope our pressing catches them out like it did in the home leg last season, and where we're able to keep it tight at the back. It is possible, but I fear unlikely.

We all know the really important run of games starts a week from tomorrow. But it would be nice if we could go into those not on the back of six straight losses.
  • Birmingham are strong at St. Andrews. Fear another loss. Would be over the moon with a point just to stop the horrific run we're on. Fullah, Anderson, Apter and Tanto please.
