Cant believe how most people on here are so abusive to our own players, especially homegrown charlton players.

Same people that were gassing up our poorer performers during our good run.
I don't normally slag them off much, but he has mostly been on his arse this match, and when he gets a golden chance, he screws it up.
The whole team is playing poorly, we are on a bad run, missing some key defenders so we've lost our balance, chopping and changing selection and shape. Thats life and football. Don't let the highs be too high or the lows too low.
We've had a terrible run of injuries that have hit us badly for sure. I don't think that the whole team is playing poorly today though.

Before his injury Leaburn was superb. I've no idea why, but he just hasn't been the same player since. You expect a striker to put chances like that away, it reminds me of Andy Jones header at Luton.

I'm well aware that we have little choice up front, but any striker worth the title, scores from that. If it was a one off, you can forgive it, I'm loosing patience with him.

I do think we could get back into this, in the grand scheme of things we’re playing well albeit some poor individual performances. Think we should see apter on for leaburn
Agreed, this feels like our best chance to get something that we’ve had for a few matches. Options on the bench aren’t amazing but we could change things up a bit.

The big problem is that we went into the season with three left sided defenders - two of Championship quality and a third of questionable standard but deserved a go based on how he finished last season.

Now that the two Championship standard players are gone, we only have the bloke left who was shaky at times at the level below and teams in the Championship can just pick him off again and again and again.

Docherty was never going to score that penalty.

It looked like the medical team were wanting to take Jones off then they were overuled.
A shocking goal to concede, a shocking miss.
Hopefully the second half will see an improvement.

The big problem has been our attack (or lack of it) for the entire season.

We aren't losing every game and playing as we are because of one position.

Are we back in the West Brom game? Great news for the match thread, we won that one!

Biggest frustration from that half of Football, isn't the Leaburn miss... Its the foul from Anderson which lead to the Goal, their man is going no where, he's got Fullah in front of him, and he's only midway into our half, and over by the touchline!!

We've got it all to do, simply because of a bit of a "lazy" challenge. Golfie talks about the lack of goals, but as I keep saying, you don't need tons of goals, if you can keep them out at the other end... and we're instantly making it harder for ourselves, Carey getting disposed on the edge of the box, and Kaminski letting one in at his near post on Tuesday for example.

NJ needs to conjure up another style of play or attacking tactic, launching it up to their centrebacks every time we get the ball hasn’t worked for about 10 straight games. Get TC and Apter on wide, move Fullah into the 10 and try to play through midfield and expose their wingbacks.

This, people keep saying Jones is mixing it up but we're just trying slightly different variations of a back 3, we're still "smash it up top and fight for it ball"
  • I don't think we are awful today by any means.

The big difference is Birmingham are playing some q.uick, snappy football and look like they might score every time they come forward. Whereas our approach is slow and laboured and we look like we can play all day without scoring.

Jones needs to change it now. Try something different.  Change the formation in some way and get Apter on in his right position so he can put some proper crosses over for Leaburn  and Olaofe.Otherwise we are drifting to defeat no 6 in a row.

Still in it at 1-0 but can't see us scoring 2. Would bite your hand off for a draw from here

Fullah feels a bit wasted at LWB. Needs to be further up the pitch
    Yep.

We should go 4 at the back. Put Fullah & Apter on the wings & get them putting crosses in to the forwards. Actually try to create something.

Gillesphey gets murdered when he plays left back. See Stoke (A) and being 2-0 down in the first five minutes.
Just an observation, but as I recall neither goal came from Gilly’s side of the pitch? I might be wrong?

I don’t even know which of our players you’re slagging off at this point!

The big concern should be that Birmingham have been fairly average in comparison to what we’ve seen this season, yet still had 17 shots in the 1st half

Manhoef’s goal definitely did and that wasn’t the first time he had been turned inside out.

I feel like with that second angle it looks like the keeper’s got quite near it and Leaburn has tried to make sure it goes over his diving hands by lifting it but has overcompensated. Does make you wonder why he’s not pulled wider of the keeper to stop that being an issue at all

Ramsey's played there before. Gilly & Jones in the centre, Bree RB.
