The Red Robin said:Bit of a mixed record with Cal McNair at the Texans. Very strange when he first inherited them. Hired a guy called Jack Easterby who I believe was a former chaplain and pretty much gave him control of the organisation and he made some bizarre decisions, lost a lot of good coaches and players and also had to deal with their quarterback sexually assaulting several massage therapists.Since then… they look like they’ve got their sh!t together and have a good head coach and young quarterback, one of the best defenses in the league and are playoff bound.I’d take his money but wouldn’t want him having too much influence on the club.
Guess it's one like Woody Johnson and Palace where their previous records in sports are a bit questionable but if they don't have that much influence (I'd assume Friedman, Brener and Rosenfeld would still be the largest shareholders) so someone like McNair would only be a similar percentage to them.2 -
The dollar will probably begin to go down in value in the next decade so now’s the best time possible for the American mega rich to buy up European assets.Raith_C_Chattonell said:

Actually 43 of the top 50 teams are from the US - it may explain why so many Americans take a punt with their loose change in English football.

Oh Woody Johnson is another level. The man is a disaster. Hopefully that rubs off on Palace.MarcusH26 said:The Red Robin said:Bit of a mixed record with Cal McNair at the Texans. I don’t think anyone is investing in Charlton as a hedge on their American investments!Diebythesword said:

I do get however that an upcoming game against Chelsea might help reel in a few unsuspecting / uneducated investors.

From an online search he’s quite a fan of Charlie Kirk. Wouldn’t have expected him to know so much about an Altrincham winger. This and a couple of other things lead me to believe there’s not much substance in this rumour.3

That's a worry because Kirk is a write off. Not even scoring at Altrinchham 0 goals from 9.Weegie Addick said:From an online search he’s quite a fan of Charlie Kirk. And a salary cap. It means that they generate real profits. No NFL owner is subsidizing the club, he’s raking in cash.Rothko said:
TV money, $12bn a year from TV from domestic deals aloneMarcusH26 said:DamoNorthStand said:I don’t quite get how the Forbes sports franchise valuation is carried out - and that’s from someone that owns a global sports business and has worked in the industry for 25 years.
Philadelphia Eagles - ahead of Real Madrid and Man Utd?
It’s not on commercial / sponsorship revenue. Data from my business doesn’t put any NFL team anywhere near the top global football / soccer properties. Not even close.
It’s not on global merch sales. NFL isn’t anywhere near as popular as the EPL or LaLiga globally.
Fanbase size? We measure multiple datapoints across search, social and survey data and the Eagles are nowhere.
So how is this valuation met?

They claim to base a lot of this off of media rights deals which seems iffy as a methodology.1 -
