When he scores the winning penalty for us in the play-off final in May 2026 you'll eat your words.
Looking at him, Rousslillon will probably eat them first

Older fans will of course remember dear old Ralph Milne turning up in January looking like he had had a good Christmas, and if I remember correctly debuted against a young Stuart Pearce in a dire 0-1 home defeat to Forest. I met dear old Ralph many years later, and can confirm that he admitted that strength and conditioning were perhaps not his top priorities during his brief spell witj the Addicks.
Think his song was, "He's fat, he's round, his arse is on the ground, Ralphy Milne"

Yet there would be highlights on Football Focus of Dundee United playing in Europe and Milne was ripping defences apart.

Just in time for the 2 games before his contract expires in a week and a half

Astrit was quality... Probably would have played at a much higher level if he sorted his fitness out. Seem to remember reading at the time, probably on here, that he smoked like a chimney

He came to us from Liege whilst Dushitelet was owning them.
In other cirumstances it would have been interesting if he stayed with us as I agree with you, he was a very good footballer.

Wasn’t he signed on a short term contract? If so we don’t know for sure when it expires.

No but it’s either Jan 1st or Jan 31st considering when players contracts expire and since we haven’t played him yet we can assume we don’t want him here any longer than we needed to and probably have a whole list of LWB’s we’re looking at getting in straight from the start of the window

    Shortly.

Might be doing him a favour, getting him to a reasonable level of fitness in time for the window to open and a club can take a chance on him or Bell is out for longer than anticipated, or we might have to call on him over a busy Christmas period, or none of those.

Rousillon - full bodied and much better when allowed to breath (particularly after chasing 21 year-olds)

I'd hope we have someone lined up and ready in time to play at Blackburn on 4 Jan. Realistically though i think it'll probably not be until Sheff Utd on the 17th.

Okay my latest theory is that he's on probation to be a Hyltonesque coaching staff candidate. That has to be the answer, watching him waddle after the ball in pre-match has no other explanation

What on earth is going on here?
I get he was likely unfit when i came in, but has been through the door a month now.

Looking more and more likely he was only signed as emergency cover.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see him released and a new signing comes in at LWB.

I'm assuming he's only under contract until the 1st Jan? Got to have been a 1 month emergency cover deal and we'll never see him play a first team minute.

  • Always nice to have a gig through the Xmas period, in any profession, even for a footballer I expect. Can't blame him for putting himself in position. But if its true he ate most of a whole box of quality street on the team coach back from Norwich, getting so sick he couldn't even make the bench for the next game, that does raise serious questions.

Yes indeed, WHY have Quality Street changed the wrappers on the sweets after what seems like decades of the glittery wrappers ?

Have we had enough bizarre international signings for an 11? I'd add Martin Christensen and Goncalo Brandao to it.

    Sergio Leite in goal.

    Steve Barbe in midfield.
