  • I watched Unforgiven last night and then thought I’d finally try and follow it up with Butch Cassidy etc……….
    Dear me, chalk and cheese.
The first is a class film with some quality actors/acting. The second, I got as far as the do be do be do nonsense as they raided their way through South America. I have never been able to watch it all the way through. It’s absolute tripe!
  • Enjoyed Elvis last night, cheers for the recommendation.

Yes. But only because it’s been shown so many times separately.
Probably why I’ve never actually bothered to watch it completely tbh. It’s just not worth it lol

It's full of cringey moments unfortunately but even though he's not the greatest of actors, even he admitted that himself but I do enjoy Paul Newman in nearly all his films.

Both have been recommended films of the day more than once and the Wham! Documentary is fantastic and probably hasn’t been seen by as many people .
  • All of todays films are really worth the time taken to to watch. The hunt for Red October, great early evening viewing. One ping only.

    Yup, some great ones today

Although if you're going strictly on 'best film', Gangs of New York shouldn't be mentioned anywhere near Godfather II either.

Not really into films but recorded a few lately, watched Strangers on a Train, Casablanca and the Battle of the River Plate last couple of days.

    Thought Casablanca was very good.

  • Hard day to pick with zulu and withnail and I.
I would of personally gone with blade runner. (Though I do love pulp fiction) Loved it before but then I saw it when it was remastered at the pictures. The soundscape was something else.

Just watching Apollo 13. Think I've got more buttons on my remote for the tv than they have in the whole of Houstons mission control.

Yeah, me too. I thought it was great. I'd have missed it if it wasn't for this thread.

Just realised that I missed Rear Window today, damn. I've got the remake on DVD but the original is better.

Watched Paul McGann and Ralph Brown in conversation with Phil Jupitus on YouTube, quite entertaining.
Still amazing to think that Richard E Grant had never had alcohol before, what an actor.
