Just seen a post on X about Kone and Kelman - we’ve come a long way since the early months of the season when Kone was meant to be the much better signing and Kelman a dud.

Kone scored 3 in 3 in August/September, including 1 against us. I hadn’t realised he’s only scored 2 since then.

After the Oxford match, in which Leaburn was excellent, Nathan Jones was keen to point out that Miles is being asked to play as an old fashioned No.9 target man in a way he not really been asked to before, and that NJ felt he was starting to grow i to that role. He’s being asked to adapt to that, the Championship, and still re-finding himself after a long injury, while still only just turned 22. Lots for him to learn still, but absolutely he shouldn't be written off yet. NJ certainly seems to be happy with his progress and has shown faith in him recently.

I was definitely on the Kone side but tbh think I might have said somewhere in this thread that Kelman might score more this season even though I think Kone is the better signing.

The reason Kone is a much better signing in my opinion is because he’s got a lot more potential, he might not fulfil it but if he does he could easily be a £10m+ sale for QPR. He’s only 22, has the physical profile that top flight clubs are looking for in a number 9 and has also had a lot less professional coaching than a normal pro, so there should be a lot of room for him to improve from where he is now.

If Kelman maxes out his potential he will be a top championship striker, if Kone maxes out his then I think he’s a premier league player

He's starting to come good - really think we're about to turn the corner but i'm more convinced than ever that he needs a strike partner and that, in addition to a wing back or 2 should be our transfer window priorities - a proven mobile target man - let TC and Leaburn continue to learn from the bench

That Kelman and Olaofe are our most accurate strikers and that if they were given the same amount of chances to shoot as TC and Leaburn they'd likely convert more into goals.

Yep he's young and growing with every game but for what we need now in the championship is someone who's got that bit extra and more polished,I don't really care about opposition players or learn there names but one of there strikers today was controlling balls fired into him and spinning soo well laying the ball off etc that's the kind of striker we need with kelman.

That was Ellis Simms, one of the best championship strikers. If we can upgrade to somebody like him then we obviously should but they don't come cheap.

The battling and work rate is great to see, but I don’t want him forgetting he’s a striker and needs to shoot to score, I thought he should have done better with that chance yesterday, we don’t get enough chances to be squandering them. Same with berry when he got through what happened there?

There's a comment in the player marks for the Coventry game that Kelman "tries hard but is lightweight", which I think is extremely harsh given his involvement in our goal!

4 in his last 4 starts. He went on a great scoring run for Orient in the second half of last season, so hopefully he can do the same for us.

I mean its a good argument to make about keeping Alfie May - After all even the team that broke the League One points record didn't want to keep him going into the Championship, and they sit four points behind us so far.

And that Alfie May would have gone anyways even if we wanted to keep him, he was offered a higher salary, fair play to him.

Nothing to do with money he wanted to be back closer to his family as he said in the farewell video .. that’s the only reason he left

And the money, I was told this by an Alfie may close friend.

No surprise that Kelman has started scoring .. but also the partnership with Leaburn … is starting to look good . Entering the business side of the season good to have a striker hitting form at the right time and with Godden back in a couple of weeks … problem still is the service to the front players

I was aiming to come on here to say he has now got 4 in 16, obviously not all starts. Kone has 5 in 23, with 2 assists. So Charlie is currently more better at 1 in 4 whilst Kone is 4.6.

Don't have it to hand but it does bring up an interesting point that players do see what fans have to say about them. Amazes me that any of them are on social media really as they must see some really out of hand stuff. Their agents could easily run accounts on their behalf

I have no idea why any professional sportspeople would run their own socials. Just asking for trouble really , pay your agent or get a PR company to do it for you.

Was a signing I was quite intrigued to see how it panned out , scored buckets at age group level but had got injuries on the couple of loans he's had.

Would imagine Saints have a buyback on him

For the past two games, he seems uninterested in getting into the physical side of the game. Quite often just lets the defender have it rather than step across him.
