Sign two players, a LCB and a LWB.

Bell looked to me as bad as I have seen him coming off injured.

Wont see him for a long time I fear. Transfer market is urgent now.

He pulled up straight away and was holding his hamstring

We all know how important Bell is to us, but he looked so assured tonight. Really hope his injury doesn’t see him missing game time & I’m putting my hope in the fact that he walked down the sideline & tunnel under his own steam.
  • Bell is class, but not prudent to be heavily reliant on such an injury prone player. Got to find a new first choice LCB in summer with Bell as a top rate back up.

Loans urgently needed for both LWB and LCB now to tide us over for rest of season.

Might I suggest a change of uniform for Bell and Burke.

Brain dead of Jones to put Bell lwb after those subs. Another crass decision by him, along with not playing Fullah enough, especially since Birmingham

  • Desperately need to get a LWB through the door asap now. Disintegrated after bell was forced off and this is becoming a common theme.

    Do it then.
Probably help if most of them aren't injury prone to start with though.

It'll have to be Roussillon next Saturday if both Bell and TC are out and we don't sign anyone in time.

Only other option is someone like Bree LWB and JRC or Apter RWB

Why the fuck did we sign Rousillon? So bizarre

Jerome Roussillon is never gonna play is he, we need someone / anyone who can play Bell’s position in ASAP

Absolutely gutting as Bell is so good, alongside Jones our best player, and with him Out again the impending home league
    games look a lot tougher

Reckon Bell is out for a few weeks - pulled up with his hamstring and signalled straight away to come off. When I saw Macca ready to come on earlier, I thought at least it’s sensible to protect Bell. But instead we took Kelman off and pushed TC forward. Not clever and in fact in hindsight extremely silly.

Not sure what it was with TC injury wise but also not looking good. We desperately need some left sided defenders now. I’m pretty gobsmacked we haven’t already got at least one in as I thought we were better on the planning these days. Unfortunately other clubs now know how desperate we are.

Choice here with the younger lads, do we throw them in or put square pegs in round holes.

After that brief break early in the 1st half it looked like TC was pushed back to almost full back which immediately took away any attacking options we had at that time. NJ must have seen something he didn’t like but it did weaken us going forward. We are seriously lacking on the left side of defence.
  • At point where would rather keep Gough at RCB and move either Burke or Ramsay to LCB whilst we try and bring someone in.

Cannot bear to watch Gillesphey in the team again. He is incredibly out of form

I was in the bottom left corner of the covered end lower last night so had a close view of Gittens v TC and without Bell we would’ve been in deep trouble in that first half, Gittens had TC on every single attack and Bell really showed that he’s just a level above the rest of our team IMO, he not only covered excellently forcing them backwards a few times, but was constantly telling TC where to be etc. If Bell is now out long term and TC is our LWB I think we’ll struggle, admittedly we won’t be facing anyone of the same quality of Gittens but TC was lost every time he was forced to defend (understandably.) I’d like to see a new LCB as well as a new wing back if we’re persevering with this shape.

With Edwards nearing a return I wouldn’t mind seeing him on the left of a back three. I think he’s got all the attributes to excel there and it’ll allow us to bring in a bit of pace down the left.

It's getting to the point where I'm wondering if Tanto's ever played wing back?

Thats how i saw it on tv. Gittens was having a field day. Suprised at a lot of the other comments

I felt Chelsea got the ball to Gittens a lot, TC stuck admirably to his task with assistance from Bell.  Gittens looked great with quick feet and a load of step overs but ultimately got nowhere and was usually tackled or on a couple of occasions won a corner.  Considering he cost over £40M and the hype I would have been disappointed with his output if I was a Chelsea fan, knowing he was up against a young, Championship winger playing out of position.

You’re allowed to play any formation, any combination of fit and contracted players. What you’re not allowed to do is plug in a new signing*.

Who are you playing in your back five / back four?

Femewo went to Hull, so can't pick him anyway.

Amari Bell is meant to cover it, then Roussillon, then TC (for some reason) then Apter (though he is a right winger) then Gillesphey.

After that I'd rather have every single (right sided) defender have a go, then Nathan Jones (apparently he was a Left Back) could (come out of retirement) to provide us cover if needed.

Rather that than Hernández playing another minute (in that position) and Godden is focused too much on coming back than having to learn another position.

*- That said we do need another proper  LWB (on loan or transferred in)

Are Emergency Loans still a thing?

I don’t think he got round the outside of TC even once. The only time he had any joy was taking the ball infield away from TC. Estevao had more joy taking on TC but he had fresh legs and is also one of the top young talents in world football

TC is fine at wing back if all he’s being asked to do is defend 1v1, which is all he really had to do against Gittens. He’s one of the quickest players in the championship so even if he does get beat he can usually make up for it. Where TC struggles is he has no defensive instincts, because he’s not a defender. So he’s often not in the right place, doesn’t track a runner, doesn’t know when he just needs to get rid etc and that’s what’s been costing us because Gillesphey isn’t good enough to get us out of jail like Bell does

If no one arrives this week that can start on Saturday then I’d play Ramsay at LCB. He will do a better job at covering TC than Gillesphey does, and TC is still our best option at LWB until we bring someone new in

Is Ramsay definitely expected back by Saturday?

No point playing TC at LWB as it totally negates the W part of his game.

Sounds like it. Think I’ve seen from a few people that spoke to him on Saturday that he said he would be
