    As per above, since 2007 relegation, only two campaigns at Championship level with better records than the current season.

    07/08 40pts 5th -> 64 pts 11th
    12/13 33pts 15th -> 65pts 9th
    25/26 32pts 18th
    14/15 31pts 16th -> 60pts 12th
    Beautiful , the “we’re still 5th” season , when we were utter junk and scrambling the odd result , playing shit and other results went for us before the inevitable dive down the table took place
  • The transformation under Jones has been astonishing. We’re competing in The Championship and to be honest we all knew this season was going to be tough with survival the only target. We’re going through a torrid patch and it’s natural that fans get edgy. Let’s face it NJ is a bit of a nutter. We know that and love it when we’re doing well and I think we need to stay behind him when we’re not and forgive his tantrums. I think he’s once again feeling the pressure. Forgetting that it’s Millwall away next Saturday, we’re playing a team in the top four so I wouldn’t be expecting much anyway. Being Millwall makes it almost impossible. Must win on Tuesday or at least not a loss.

    Not being funny, but I could have been manager and would have won the game yesterday.

    It is a 9v11. It should be impossible to lose or draw it. All the talks of tactics and managing the game is nonsense and papering over how dreadful we have been lately.

    Let's see how he gets us playing the next 2

    I’d love to know if he thinks Karoy Anderson is the answer. If he does he needs sacking.

    Some of the starting line-ups are really puzzling at this level.

    Why are we playing players well out of their depth at this level?
  • How long does he genuinely have, he’s so stubborn with his team selection week in week out. We can all see how shit this football is until we by some miracle put the ball in the back of the net, but at that point we’re already 2-0 usually.

    Its hard to question the guy who got u promoted, but his selections and refusal to change formation is sooooo frustrating

    It feels a bit like the Crawley game now - except we've got less time to put it right

    I'm getting more and more confused by the starting lineups. He's so incredibly married to one formation but there's too many square pegs in round holes. No idea why JRC isn't starting and the less said about leaving Apter out entirely for his favourite Berry the better.

    Much as I love Nathan's enthusiasm and love (he says) for the club, I do wonder on the 5 year contract given to him last year and it's implications for Charlton Athletic, we are looking disheveled one minute and good the next, no consistency...i am just lost at the moment

    Can't wait to hear how this wasn't his fault and it's the refs/fans fault we lost tonight, incredible lack of responsibility when we lose, wants all the plaudits when we win. Forked out way too much moolah this season watching utter dross
  • The question is what do we do now? The players that are here are for a greater part his players, he has set a formation which he believes fits those players best. What can we really do?

    It would be a waste of time sacking him now, there’s not enough time left in the window to recruit and then allow that manager to bring in and offload players.

    But surely he can’t keep playing this same system which has shown time and time again now its limitations for us at this level. I’m a bit stumped where we go from here.

    I'll be honest, I've really lost interest in us over the last couple of months.
    I'd like us to have a bit of spirit and character but struggle to see any.
    In the unlikelihood we go a goal up,we're then hanging on for dear life to hold on for the remainder of the match.
    Go a goal down and it's curtains. No attacking prowess whatsoever.
    I knew it would be difficult this season but I had some faith. But we seem to have got so much wrong.
    I keep going back to Curbs being asked on Charlton TV close season what advice he would give Nathan. His answer....'Dont be too loyal'
    I feel we have been far too loyal to some that really aren't and probably never will cut it at this level.

    I think sacking Jones now increases the chances of relegation rather than reduces them. Thus I would keep him. If that equation changes then I’ll let you know.

    I can't believe anyone would question Nathan Jones.

    I thought we all accepted that this season would be difficult. We've just got promoted from League One and haven't had multiple seasons to embed ourselves in this league.

    We need to stay up. We're picking up points at home. We're not getting tonked like some teams in this league.

    Just relax. Nathan Jones is the man.

    another 2 wins in our next 13 matches and we will almost certainly be relegated... 13 games isn't a run of form, it's an enormous part of the season going catastrophically wrong

    thankfully its still retrievable but he needs to not have the same attitude as you and excuse it - he needs to realise it's really going badly wrong, like last season, and alter things to make it right

    It’s time for NJ to question himself and realise he just might have to have different ideas. Something has to change.
  • Game was crying out for some one with the technical ability in the middle of rankin Costello. I’m not entirely sure why he wants to “calm” the game down when we’re 1-0 down and have had possession for the last 3 or 4 minutes.

    Oxford were on a similar run last season when they sacked Buckingham. They were also still outside the relegation zone at the time.

    I'm not Jones out, but I do think other clubs in our position would at least be putting their finger over the trigger

    But there isn't an obvious appointment like Rowett available (I know he's out of work but there are so many reasons he can't be appointed here). Most of the manager changes towards the bottom of the table haven't worked this season and we would be going from one pragmatist to another, it would be pointless

    100%
    Then of course if we brought in a new manager next week and nothing changed, do we sack him?
    It's funny that when we beat Ipswich people were thinking we could make the play-offs :D

    dressing room unrest I heard as well as NJ wanting Doc out , not good things to be hearing but dressing room unrest always comes out when the team are fucking shit
  • Dreadful tactics.
    Boring, one dimensional football.
    Weird team choices, regularly odd timing of subs.
    Poor recruitment in the summer.
    Total control so he has nowhere to hide.
    Regularly antagonistic towards fans.
    It's not a great list.  I would still give him time, but my patience is wearing thin.

    It'll go down to the last two games of the season, I have no doubt.

    Nathan Jones your football is shite

    Not doubting your info at all and grateful for sharing but what's interesting is they aren't playing like a team who doesn't like the manager. The quality is poor but there's no lack of effort or endeavour, no shouting matches on the touchline (that I've seen anyway), no avoiding him at FT etc.

    Hardly surprising when players brought in during the summer are barely getting a kick.
    No surprises then.

    Professional athletes don’t like losing.

    That said, it was at about the time that the “he’s lost the dressing room” comments appeared last season that we went on a run that ended in promotion. So I welcome them.
