Wonder if we'll send Olaofe back to Stockport on loan, if we get Cadamateri from Sheff Wed
Doesnt make sense signing the latter otherwise
    That’s a great shout

Looks way off being a Championship player, i'd be happy to see him go.

Lost his way a bit.  I was optimistic but in a couple of the games recently (Oxford at home and Norwich away), I thought he lacked the skill needed to be effective at this level.  Wouldn’t be gutted to see him leave on loan and it would be an unfortunate case of just not working out currently.  Frustrating given we paid a fee, but maybe he can come back next season with a point to prove if we stay up, but I think this is a step too high for him
I don't think he's played anywhere near enough minutes to be given an opportunity to develop, which he clearly needs as he's still so raw. Frustrating as he looked electric in his first few appearances.

I think we will keep him around and then look to move him on in the summer. After being short in a few positions in the first half of the season I think we are going to not take any risks on depth by letting players go out on loan in the 2nd half. Might mean we are over stocked and players dont make the bench for a while but better than being caught short.

Good in theory but we can only have 25 players (unless they count as u21) and we must be getting close to that limit already. If we want new players then some will have to leave

Given that Olaofe / Apter got mentioned by Rodwell yesterday, as players that we intend to develop over time, I'd be surprised if we gave up on either of them, even come the summer, unless its on loan, and is what you meant sorry?

A reported £1.5million spent on the fella back in the summer on a 3 year contract

For that sort of fee you would want it to be money well spent but IF he does depart this window then good luck to him

    Kaminski, Mannion, Maynard-Brewer
Jones, Ramsay, Gillesphey, Burke, Clarke, Ramsay, Bell, Rousillon, Edwards
Coventry, Carey, Docherty, Hernandez, Knibbs, Rankin-Costello, Apter
Dykes, Kelman, Olaofe, Godden, Campbell, Leaburn

I think we're at the limit right now, however if Edwards is out for the season, and maybe Knibbs too, they can come off the list of registered players and make 2 spaces.

8 of the 25 need to be homegrown too but I think that's just need to be UK based not Charlton specifically.

If we allow Tanto out, we need to sign another forward, and they need to have an absolute shit tonne of pace
I think if we sort LWB out with another signing, that then frees TC up to move back to the forward line and then maybe frees Tanto up to leave? You’ve then got Kelman and TC as your runners, Leaburn and Dykes as your target men and then Godden as your 5th option that can play either the focal point or the second striker role

I think that’s the problem. He’s had some great moments, even recently at Birmingham he was very good. But he just isn’t consistent enough in his performances. He’s either an 8/10 or a 4/10

I don't see Hernandez or Rousillon staying if there are better options and I think Olaofe and AMB will be loaned out. That leaves 19 of that list available, Fuller, Mitchell and Chambers making it 22. If we can replace Hernandez and Rousillon we will, last January we came out of the transfer window with 24.

Looked quality at L1 level when playing wide and with confidence. I do think there’s a player there, however he’s just not done enough so far.

Needs to improve his end product or I doubt he plays above League 1.

Another case of our recruitment failing (although I was also excited about this one tbf)

I'd be happy for Oloafe to leave on loan, with a view to upping his value for a move this summer. I can't see him getting minutes (unless we get injuries) and have been mostly unimpressed with him at this level. He is 26; his finishing and composure were noted as weaknesses when we bought him, and I haven't seen anything to suggest that he has the technical ability to be a big performer at this level.

Great deal for Stockport if it goes through. We paid them 1.5 million, and yet he still does back and plays for them.

Doesnt make sense signing the latter otherwise
    Oh goody.......another non-goal scoring striker.

In what world do Strikers never miss chances?
Yes its a concern when they don't hit the target when chances fall to them... But if we expect a Striker to at least hit the target every time, then a lot of people are going to be sorely disappointed.
Funnily thats Olaofe, Leaburn and Campbell who have been named in the last two weeks as having failed to hit the target / score when an opportunity has befallen their way - Carey has gone seven games without a goal now, when do his missed attempts, e.g. from the Olaofe rebound start to get brought up?
I remain convinced that the first touch which forced Tanto to sprint after the ball, and allowed the Goalkeeper to quickly come off his line, making the goal smaller, was what f**ked him over the most
I can give a player the BOD for missing volleys, snapshots, long shots like etc Carey has. Tanto has now had 4 1V1’s at Ipswich Coventry Stevenage and yesterday and not scored 1. Strikers are allowed to miss chances they’re not allowed to miss 4 sitters in a row
1 v 1s are not "sitters". They are good scoring chances. Maybe 30/40% result in goals.

Tanto does not score because he does not have 100% control of the ball at speed.

Agreed. We have plenty of strikers, it'd creating chances for them that's the problem.

In addition, on Tuesday at the start of the second half we switched to 1 up front, with Fullah as an additional attacking midfielder. That looked quite decent, the sort for formation which might be useful in tough away games, requiring even fewer out and out strikers in the squad.

I’m not sure he’s had enough of a chance really. Certainly not starting games and a run in the team.

I can't see any of these being registered after the deadline, either because they've been loaned, released or are long term injured. So that leaves a lot of spaces.

This was terrible business. Not only did we give Stockport 1.5 million for tanto they get him loaned back to help their promotion push.
