Frustatingly going to be about 5 miles away (instead of the usual 75) and probably won't even be able to catch a stream. Hoping that means we get a famous victory, even if I don't get to see it. If all our defenders are fit I'd stick Ramsay at LCB, Azeez is their dangerman but will constantly cut inside so a defender with a strong right foot could be handy

Not sure I’ve ever dreaded a game this much. See nothing but a big win for them.

Hoping for a win and a bit of luck that we never seem to get when we play them.

Get chambers in and put TC back up top - asking him to defend has killed our attacking play and ability to get up the pitch

While there's life there's hope, and IF Nathan gets his starting Xl and tactics right then there is a slim hope we can get something from this

Derby's often see the formbook fly away out the window and the royal 'we' are hoping that Saturday's game properly overturns the form

Thing is Nathan and the starters MUST hit the ground well ready to rumble, else, like Tuesday, our first half performance will once more resemble a shambolic pub team
Let's hope Lloyd is fit to start, though it is a sad reflection that the team's fortunes are so dependant on one player.
As a baseball commentator might have it .. 'time for y'all to step up to the plate' and get a result at the rusty toolbox

Can’t see past a comfortable win for them 3 or 4-0. But you never know!

If two WBs can last 90 it will transform our play, give CMs an outlet, but I suspect we will be 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 or an asyymmetric version of any

  • So, we’re off to Millwall. A place where we haven’t won for so long that most of us are struggling to remember when it was..... “yes, Charlton did once beat Millwall allegedly.”

On paper? Forget it. Form book? Burn it. Our record there? Honestly, it points to there being no point our players even getting off the team bus. BUT… and this is the bit football lives for that’s not how the game works. There’s no such thing as a guaranteed victory in football ! Nathan Jones won’t have thrown in the towel, nor will Lloydy Jones & rest of our players either, and football has a long proud history of laughing in the face of logic..... Just when everything says “no chance,” football has a strange way of going against the form book.

This is the fixture I’ve been looking forward to for weeks, an away day at The Den. Backs against the wall, nobody giving us a prayer, everyone expecting the worst......why not now? If we only turned up when the odds looked good, what would be the point? This is football. This is Charlton and  maybe, just maybe, this is the time we finally slay the Lions in their Den and finally get rid of the Millwall hoodoo..... What’s not to look forward to?

The pouring rain and being kept in for 45 minutes after being thumped 3-0

yeh first two are a given , third you maybe right but then maybe not, isn't that why we carry on going whatever logic dictates...I prefer the glass half full approach even when it means getting drunk on false optimism

3-0, maybe 4-0 defeat, and a big thread about how our fans were treated.

If he starts Gillesphey and Anderson I will despair.
I agree it might be 4-3-3 to enable TC to be a winger.
    Kaminski
    Clarke Burke Jones Chambers
    Coventry JRC Carey
    Leaburn Kelman TC

Just like everyone else it seems I can’t see beyond a proper good hiding and agree with the popular 3/4-0 forecasts. I just hope we don’t pick up anymore injuries or red cards as this game won’t decide our season

As other pundits have opined, why sit back to an inevitable defeat? Up and at 'em with emphasis on how WE play not them. so 3-4-3

    Kaminski
    Burke Jones Chambers
    Clarke Coventry Rankin-Costello
    Apter Dyke Godden

    Finishers @ 65 minutes
    Fullah,Carey, Leaburn, Campbell, Ramsay

Worth a try especially as everyone else is EXPECTING a thrashing what ever team we put out!
  • The time is now. Jammy 2-1 win for the Addicks.

Any news on Bell? Without him and potentially Jones, we are incredibly vulnerable at the back. Desperately want to avoid defeat but no matter how positive I try to be I cannot see anything other than a loss here. Hope it's not another late winner to endure. UTA.

With Zach back as cover, could Gough play 6 and Coventry 8?

But we desperately need pace in the middle. I'd give Karoy another chance with two outlets outside him.

I have gone to every game at the Den old and new since 1988

Apart from one as I was stuck on the A13 in the snow

Sorry but I’m going Saturday hopefully the boy breaks the curse 😂

    3-0 Millwall

A demoralising but customary defeat incoming.

Think we'll set up as per usual 5-3-2
If chambers starts can see TC starting up top with leaburn/dykes and drifting out wide left and giving width like last season and getting the extra body into midfield.

Trying to decide whether to use a cheese grater to wipe my arse on Saturday
I understand the fashion among the in-people is to use a towel folded into a swan shape.

If Chambers is any good, that team might have a chance.

Good point, I’ll have to change my 3 or 4-0 prediction to 5-0 and a red card for us
  • Its also on Sky Sports Football, rather than Sky Sports Plus, so there will be no stream available via. CharltonTV

I don't do blind faith or have rose tinted bins, but this is one of the rare occasions I have a strong feeling we're going to win.
The odds and form are against us but I live in hope.
Should we do the business can everybody remember what they have posted recently about Jones.
I agree elf’s - the omens look so stacked against us I think we will do em - TC could be like a man possessed if freed from defending and I have a strong feeling Bell is gonna rise from the physio bench - we rested players Tuesday as well - I think NJ has been treating this game with the importance many managers in the past haven’t

I really hope we do not play 3-5-2. That will play into Millwalls hands. Long balls to Cooper, Taylor and Crama is not a recipe for success.

Millwalls weakness is balls in behind those big lads and between the lines. 3-4-2-1 which we played in the second half on Tuesday would help exploit their weakness but also keep us strong defensively.

Rivalry and the 30 year record aside, a point at The Den would be a good one. Yes it would mean we haven't beaten them again but a point away at a top 8 team, which sadly they are, is a good one.

Just imagine the scenes if we do win.........COYR!!!
This is no time for experimenting - we need to put out the team we started the season with as far as possible

He can't control the ball and he can't pass accurately. And his team mates know it.There were several times on Tuesday where he was free in the middle and Clarke or Ramsay decided not to pass to him. He is sadly a liability at this level.
