i'd bet my house that the next time he plays a first team game it will be for usCallumcafc said:
We will see (hopefully we won’t). Reckon there’d be at least a few interested clubs.DamoNorthStand said:Callumcafc said:
Well I think we are staying up, if that’s what you mean? Plenty of people don’t but I’m not one of them.Sword65pf said:
Bloody hell mate, let’s look on the bright side?🙄Callumcafc said:Should the worst happen and we fail to stay up, he might have played his last game for Charlton. I bloody hope not.
I can’t see Edwards playing League One football again.
He has played 7 championship games. He wont be getting signed by anyone over the summer if we go down.0 -
I'm gutted for Josh Edwards and the team but pleased this 'secret' is now official.
The big hope is that Josh Edwards is fit to have a pre season and can be fit for August and play for Charlton hopefully in the Championship come August.

Spoke to him today , he’s a lovely lad , said he’d be back ready for pre season training and all good for now18

Worrying that Jones has now said he’s the furthest away of the injured players. Added “We should see him by the end of pre-season.” I really hope so.3
-
That’s good that we’ve got Mesik in early then. He can start the season while Edwards gets eased back in6
-
It must have been a really nasty injury. You hope he comes back with no complications etc12
-
Ankles are complicated joints0

My favourite player. It would mean a great deal to the team and us if we could get him back sooner than later.3

The Left Back slot really has been a bit of a curse these last few decades hasn't it4

He looks upbeat in the latest vids, so hopefully all on track.2
-
Hopefully we're just being a little over cautious, we've got options at least on the left now we don't need chuck him in until he's gradually had some full contact minutes closing games out etc3
-
I don't think Josh will be far off come the start of the season. He's in Slovenia, he's training and said he's feeling good.8
-
Matty Goddens just put an instagram story up of a video of Edwards running with the caption “my favourite site[sic] of the week seeing this great human return”13
-
I mean - he has over a month of training and friendlies to slowly start building up minutes. I dont think he will be a million miles away come the first game.2

League Cup game basically being a friendly is a real bonus, hopefully he might be able to get 10 minutes in the legsDamoNorthStand said:I mean - he has over a month of training and friendlies to slowly start building up minutes. I dont think he will be a million miles away come the first game.2 -
Remember the Lewis Page hamstring tweak that ended up being a 2 year injuryForeverAddickted said:The Left Back slot really has been a bit of a curse these last few decades hasn't it1 -

He only started running in Slovenia so it’ll be a couple of weeks at least you’d imagineDamoNorthStand said:Any news on Josh? Seemed to remember he was in Slovenia ready to go with everyone else and then nothing1 -
That’s a long run back to Eltham.fenaddick said:

I am worried about Josh. Hope I’m wrong.0

By the time he's back it will be about a year out, we should give him a fair bit of leeway, as he will likely be very rusty.7
-
It will be a challenge for Josh to get back to the levels he was at when he got injured. By the time he is ready it will be a year out. We all wish our popular Scottish left back and karaoke singer well as he was one of the really good signings.4

Maybe he will be more Rufus than Knibbs or Kelman (who weren’t injured , but had a lazy pre season )soapboxsam said:It will be a challenge for Josh to get back to the levels he was at when he got injured. It’s good that we have Mesik and Bell. So we’re ok at left back without him for now, so can give him the leeway he needsComeonyoureds said:By the time he's back it will be about a year out, we should give him a fair bit of leeway, as he will likely be very rusty.5 -
We won't be okay if Bell is left back, as he'll be injured in no time.NabySarr said:

I've got a sad feeling that we'll be looking to offload Josh this time next year, seems a cracking character but it's hard to imagine him performing to the levels he was at previously with so long out of the game, it's happened before but feels like Josh has had a few setbacks within this injury and we're still not sure if he's doing any work with the ball yet3
