  • I don’t think we were that bad that half, though 1-0 is definitely a fair reflection of the score.

Millwall just showing what it’s like to have quality in the final third.

Not that we have the squad for it. But I’d look to move to a 4-3-3 with Apter and Campbell on the wings.

We are not defensively solid enough to be so naff when we’re attacking.

A most unfortunate goal to concede…..IMHO.

Clearly an unpopular opinion but think Karoy was much better today than he has been last 2 games, that being said his yellow card means he needs to come off. He's made most of his passes today, when we was incredibly sloppy previously but he's just one of those players that can do no right in our fans eyes. I can't begrudge him for being outpaced by Azeez and then not committing a foul on a yellow, everyone says it's his own fault hes even on a yellow but it was a fucking harsh high boot let's be honest

Definitely more goals in this one. They’ve looked very threatening and our defending has been a bit chaotic at times - done adjustments needed from NJ.

We have played some decent stuff at times though, but we’ve had the usual problem of the final ball or lack of targets on the box.

If you park the incredibly negative mindset everyone has around this fixtures, it hasn’t been terrible and we’re still in it.

We look like conceding every time teams come forward. I dont know what has caused this because we looked so assured end of last season and the beginning of this one.

Stats at half time ...  possession Charlton 53.5 %  Millwall 46.5%
  • Maybe not quite as bad as some are saying but it's sure not good.

Our defence is crap. A keeper who can't dominate his area (and some of his short passes out are suicidal), a left back who looks like he hasn't played for a year (and needs a good meal) and our "star" man Ramsay having a nightmare (we really don't need to worry a PL team is going to nick him)

Anderson a red card waiting to happen.

Shout out to Campbell. Our only man looking likely to score.

The giant Coburn going against Ramsay is an uneven battle.

We actually haven't been too bad when attacking,  but look shaky at the ball. The Millwall press is very good, Anderson's control and passing aren't good enough to play through it.

  • Hope that miss bites them up the arse. Just wish we had one player in our midfield who could turn on it and play forwards instead of backwards every time. Anderson off please......

That’s the best we have played for a long long time. However good or bad you think Chambers is (I think he looks neat and tidy just doubt the physicality), the difference some balance makes to our side down the left is bloody huge.

For the itchiness of having three strikers on the bench I’d be inclined to keep it the same for a little longer then switch it.

We are right in this. They are just such a threat on the counter with Azeez. Pains me to say they are a very effective side.
  • We need a few changes - although Anderson’s distribution is poor he is winning more tackles than the rest of the midfield , but I would look at taking Costello off and although I think Dykes has done well - we need a goal so would bring Leaburn on
  • We look shocking defensively - so much poor positioning and decision making.

    At least it's only 1-0...

We haven't looked too bad going forwards and the midfield has been generally okay despite the questionable selections. Defensively though, we look terrible. Kaminski, Ramsay, Gillesphey and Chambers all looking shaky. Clarke, TC and Carey looking up for it.

I think our biggest let down today has been either Carey or Ramsay, Carey just has no interest in playing with his team mates and isn't good enough physically or technically to do what he wants to with the ball and Ramsay, well a bit of a horror show of a first half really

We haven't been able to keep a consistent backline for months.

A lot like the Derby game. We're playing some ok stuff but equally they could also be 3-0 up. I think teams have figured out that instead of trying to break us down they can give us as much of the ball as we want because we're toothless in attack and vulnerable on the break. Millwall got lucky with their first goal but it's meant they can just invite us on and then their best chances after that have come from counters

Very happy with Clarke as a signing. Looks decent.

We are not out of this yet. There is hope.

Go gung-ho and put Fullah on for Anderson instead, with Carey dropping back, like what he has done when we've played him with Knibbs
Use the pace of Campbell and Fullah to scare the shit out of them.
    This. We might as well!

We’re a Reece Burke hamstring pull away from a vintage performance.

Unlucky to go one down but lucky not to be further behind. Chambers and Gillie are all at sea, Chambers looks good going forward and good on the ball but he's not picking up the runner, Azeez, and once Azeez gets to Gillie it's no contest. I would bring Burke on and move Ramsay over to mark Azeez, his wrong foot I know but that's an out ball for Millwall. Clark needs to drop when the break as well. Up front we need more movement, Kelman for Dykes please.

The only thing Carey looks up for is being selfish with the ball

I’m remembering why I hate these match threads so much. So much scapegoating and witch hunting.

Unlocky goal to concede but should have conceded when Coburn missed a sitter.

And don't think its all that bad, granted lucky not to be 2-0 down but equally that first is parred into Ramsey not much he can do about that and very lucky for Millwall really. We seem to be at least trying to pass it about at least, our usual laboured style but much more positive than it has been. Campbell looked threatening just need a little more luck.
