That certainly isn't true. I remember them reaching 100 in 8 overs against Harmison, Kabir Ali and Bresnan amongst others one time

Root becomes the 8th player to score 20 centuries in both Tests and ODIs after Tendulkar, Ponting, Sangakkara, de Villiers, Amla, Kohli and Warner.

Good win for England, and a much needed 50 over series win.

It also showed the strength of the 50 over format when compared to the T20 format, in that both Root and Brook could make critical centuries, but playing in a completely different manner.

Brook player of the match. Root player of the series.

    Three T20Is starting on Friday.

Harry Brook talented if frequently negligent batter
Juvenile pinhead in all other aspects
A grown up needs to give him a strong talking to in words of one syllable about how to behave like a grown up
And the spineless bumbling fools currently robbing a living as the England cricket team "management" need to appoint a grown up as white ball captain, Brook is a pitiful embarrassment not a figurehead let alone role model.

Oliver Peake has just hit 109 (117) for Australia U19 against West Indies. That is somewhat underwhelming given his father, Clinton, when a 17 year-old, hit a world record for an innings in a youth international when he scored 304 for Australia U19 at the MCG against India.

A couple of weeks ago, Oliver's brother, Charlie, scored 101 (132) opening the batting for Geelong 4th XI. The now 48 year-old Clinton came to join Charlie at first drop. And was out for a two-ball duck!

A brilliant player, and he might be tactically fine but not "a leader of men".

Not sure who the alternatives are though. Sam Curran?

There's a lad called Zachary Carter playing for the West Indies in the U19 match who is somewhat of a big unit who goes down in stages when fielding, so much so that he must have let half a dozen balls through when fielding. He's currently opening the batting and suffice to say he can hit a cricket ball.

Didn't see his fielding but really enjoying his batting

There's a lot of potentially very good batters in that squad..

Most interesting thing for that Lions tour to me is Stokes (and Moeen I suppose) on the coaching staff, he's clearly wanting to actually look at these players

Two England games on today - the U19s are 36-0 off 10 against NZ (Kent's Dawkins is currently on 22) and the T20 side is due to play Sri Lanka starting at 1.30pm.

    England U19s finish on 234-7.

At face value this doesn't look a great score especially with so many batters getting in (top score Mayes with 53 and no partnerships of 50 or more) but this doesn't look a particularly easy track to bat on if bowlers bowl in the right areas.

How many years until Farhan debuts for England? I'm going to say about 1 and a half

He's certainly got more control than Rehan but, there again, he's an offie so should have. The cupboard isn't exactly stacked with spinners so he should have some sort of chance providing McCullum isn't in charge and/or isn't overly loyal to Bashir.

England U19s win by 65 runs, thanks in the main to the bowling of 17 year-old quick, Manny Lumsden (the only England player apparently having to do school work whist at the tournament) who returned figures of 6.5-0-17-5. He is now the leading wicket taker in the tournament. Remember the name.

Impressed with him. He's tall but he isn't one of those brainless bang-it-in macho sorts, he's got craft

Quite a turnaround about bowling garbage in his first 2 overs!

I give the captain some credit there.
Curran went for 35 off his 1st two overs.
Ccaptain kept faith and bought him back on.
