    Curran is such an enigma.
So often he is either terrible or excellent.
He goes for 30 off his first 2 overs and gets a hat trick in his 3rd over.

Yeah he baffles me as well. When he first came on the scene I thought maybe we have a decent little all rounder there but he is so inconsistent. Don't mind him but I always felt he could be better.

England put Sri Lanka in. The opening two overs from Curran and Archer have been, to say the least, average with the score on 35-0 so Brook has thrown the ball to Jacks for the third over.

Jacks didn't bat or bowl in the last match but goes for just four in his first over. Dawson comes on at the other end.

I feel we could do better……he is so erratic, often with drastic outcome. I have never rated him that much and I say this even with the knowledge of his recent hatrick.

I've always thought he's a decent option in white ball cricket.
No way is he good enough for Test cricket.

    Sri Lanka finish on 189-5

Think we are going to see a lot of overs bowled by the Sri Lankan spinners:

    Seamers (Curran, Archer & Overton): 8-0-103-2 (ER12.88)
Spinners (Jacks, Dawson & Rashid): 12-0-81-3 (ER 6.75)

Pakistan government have said their team are going to boycott their game against India. This is all getting silly now. ICC have completely fucked this up.

Bethell edges to the keeper. 38 for 2. Need 152 from roughly 15 overs.

It's interesting that Bangladesh have basically lost out on so much revenue by refusing to play and then this the biggest match in cricket India v Pakistan is another blow for the TV companies and sponsors. ICC and India are really shooting themselves in the foot.
The whole thing is a bit ridiculous but those countries are sticking it to the ICC, something we would never dream of doing.

Turn the TV on, and in the first ball I see the Sri Lankan bowler somehow manages to dislocate his shoulder bowling a delivery.

Do wonder how many more chances Phil Salt will get at the top of the order. Could easily go with Banton there instead.

Brook has just for out for a potential match changing 36 off 12 leaving 36 required off 27 balls

We have five seamers in the T20 WC squad - Archer, Overton, Curran, Wood (L) and Tongue.

Accepting that he's fifth choice, Tongue is still a real left-field choice given his total lack of white ball experience. Not a single T20 international and just 21 lifetime "T20s" of which 10 of those games were in The Hundred and not one match played outside of England. In fact, he has had just 15 List A games so, at the age of 28, he's only played 36 white ball matches and all of those at home.

At the very least I would expect both Wood and Tongue to play in the final match against Sri Lanka.

England win by 6 wickets and with 2 balls to spare (DLS). Banton with 54* (33) has probably now secured his World Cup spot at the expense of Duckett.

He has 4 T20I tons, and a strike rate of 167. Not sure he’s an issue

He's a ridiculous talent. The future of the batting side of things looks very bright. Don't know enough about the bowling attack bar Fahan Ahmed and James Minto

That was a really impressive knock from Rew.A real pleasure to watch. He has a great future .He looks a bit like Ollie Pope but is also able to bat
  • No-one watching the current T20 ?

    Wish I wasn't !

I had assumed it was another 3.30 start!

Ben Golden Duckett's place must be under threat.

Flicking between the U19s and this. The former is more interesting.

Only one man stands between the U19s and a place in the final - Oliver Peake. Australia are 224-8 and need 48 off 29 balls which is a very tall order but Peake is currently on 83*(79).

Peake hit the leading wicket taker, Lumsden, for 22 off 5 balls but couldn't get the single off the final ball to retain the strike and reach his hundred. Peake has some serious cramp too. First ball next over Morgan bowls the number 10.

250-9 and Australia need 28 off 3 overs
