Sooryavanshi 50* (32). The only comforting thing is that he's had starts in his last six innings and then got out. Wishful thinking perhaps.0
-
Sooryavanshi 100* off 55 balls.
Some crazy hitting (8 fours and 8 sixes), including smashing Farhan for 44 off 13 balls faced - whereas Ayush (out for 53 off 51 - caught at fine leg trying to pull a ball from Green) took just 4 runs off the other 11 balls of Farhan's spell.
167-2 (20)

He’s now whacking everything for a boundary0
-
He just scored 26 off an over, ridiculous0
-
Listening on TMS and it sounds like he was actually put together in an underground laboratory somewhere in India to become the next greatest batsman in the world.

Sooryavanshi 155* off 72 balls.
224-2 (23). If he stays in then we could be chasing 500 plus!!!0 -
We're not even at the halfway stage and India are 1.03 (1/33 in old money) to win the game.0
-
Ridiculous innings by the sounds of it!0
-
He's an absolute joke of a player, never seen talent like it!0
-
Wonder what the odds would be on him scoring more runs than the entire England team combined?1

Seriously, this is a man against boys and our boys are decent bowlers too. We haven't bowled brilliantly but he has that ability to pick up length so early, allied with power and timing, that makes bowlers lose their length and line.0

250-2 (25)0
-
He's out. At last!!!!
175 off 80 balls0 -
Finally gone for 175 (80) to a soft dismissal, he’ll be gutted0
-
Cue the collapse..4

We sense that. We've got a slip now!!!Karim_myBagheri said:Cue the collapse..0 -
Very naive from Ahmed there1
-
Sounds like it should be out but with ultra slow motion it's given as not a catch0
-
No it's not about the actual catch it's that before he gained full control of his body he used the ball to help him push up off the ground, that's why it wasn't givenKarim_myBagheri said:Sounds like it should be out but with ultra slow motion it's given as not a catch1 -

I've done that before, still was classed as a catch but maybe professional cricket players (even at under 19 level) should know that is the rules that you can't do that.fenaddick said:

Yeah all he had to do was sit still on the floor for a couple of seconds and it would have been fine0
-
309-5 (37) with two new batters in.
We've fought back well post Sooryavanshi. To restrict India to below 400 would be a decent result given all that happened earlier.

Good comeback with the ball from James Minto here.2
-
411-9 (50), the fourth highest total in the history of the U19 WC.
After all that came before, we have done as well as could be expected. We did score 404-6 earlier in the competition against Scotland, a game in which Mayes hit 191 (117). Where there's hope......1 -
Bit like arsenal it's India's to lose here..0
-
I think it's fair to argue that Sooryavanshi's innings was the best of all time so far as the U19 WC is concerned, taking into account the nature of the opposition, number of balls faced and the fact it was in a final.PlayerRunsMinsBalls4s6sSRTeamOppositionGroundMatch DateScorecard

He's obviously an incredible talent and the future best batsman in the world, but i'm still not buying the 'he's only 14' thing. Not sure how the interview he did in 2023 has just been completely ignored.
The interview he have gave said he was turning 14 in September of that year, which now makes him coming up to 16 and a half. His 'official' birthday is even listed as March, not September. How and why would he get the month wrong?
Even if he is 16, he's obviously still ridiculous though.1 -
Solid start. 0-0 off 2 overs.3
